Day Furs has been in business for over years, built from the ground up withintegrity, honesty, and undeniable characterMyself and my wife ***, now alongwith our two sons, have worked tirelessly to create a business that valuesservice over sales by bending over backwards for our customersWe serve over25,customers all across the United States as well as customers in manydifferent countriesA family business is not a hobby; it’s a full-timededication to our customers and to our employees, by sacrificing everything Mrs [redacted] brought her shearling garment into us to be stored and thenprofessionally cleanedAs we go over every coat to assure that it looks itsbest, one of our associates noticed some spotting on this particular garment.As we clean and condition over shearling garments a year, we sent it to [redacted] Cleaners in Kansas City [redacted] has been in the dry cleaning business,specializing in leather and shearling goods, for over years and we trustthem implicitlyThey’re the preferred cleaner for almost every major leathermanufacturerThe process that takes place when a shearling or leather iscleaned involves a slight re-dying process, to help return the coat back to itsnatural color and lusterThis is a process that we have used now thousands oftimes for our customers and [redacted] has used likely hundreds of thousands oftimesThe coat was not “blatantly destroyed”Although the complaint statesthat we “never apologized”, later in the letter it admits that we did, indeed, apologize.What good would it have done for us not to apologize? We didn’t grow ourbusiness from not being sympathetic towards our customers’ concernsWe wouldwant the same for our own garments and experienceWe pride ourselves on havingcaring staff members, and can attest to their integrity and characterAgain,thousands of people walk through our doors every year, and each is treated withthe utmost respect that all people deserveWe have customers that visit ourstore not only to purchase goods, but for therapy and a trusting ear to listen.Hundreds and hundreds of customers travel many miles from other states, pastmany other fur retailers, to visit Day FursFurthermore, “Day Furs” did not color the coat, our vendor [redacted] is ultimately the one responsible forthe cleaning and coloration of the coat, as was explained to the customerYes,I admitted that the coat had been colored artificially due to the fact thatthat’s what the process [redacted] uses to attempt to clean up spots that were onthis particular garmentAlso, the coat was not “painted”; it was dyed, likethe thousands of others that go through the production line at *** Mr [redacted] ’s call was not returned due to this being our busiest seasonWe havedeveloped wonderful, life-long relationships with thousands of customers and Iwas working alongside my wife with a happy customer purchasing a new coat forhis wife from Day Furs againMr [redacted] did come into our store and did speakwith meI did apologize and told him that we had been in business for over 30years and that we wanted to make it right, like any family business owner whohas built a successful company would doI offered to refund the money for thecleaning, and Mr [redacted] asked “what would you give me for it?” I asked Mr[redacted] what price he placed on the garmentHe said $ I replied that Iwould pay “$500” because the garment is usedThat number would be more thanfair for a used shearling coat that had spots on it and for being several yearsoldWe would not be able to do anything with that coat, just pay the $forit as we believe that was a fair offer, especially for the troubleJust likeanything else in retail, products depreciate over time and with useMr [redacted] said that was not acceptable and he would see me in courtI replied “OK” asit’s hard to have any other reply when a man turns his back and walks out thedoor immediately following such conversation Day Furs has a virtually spotless record when it comes to the Revdex.com, as well asthousands of happy customers that would stand behind our integrity and honesty.However, we are humanAccidents unfortunately do happenThat is why, eventhough the garment is supposedly years old and we c***ot verify that that wasthe cost of the garment, Day Furs will pay $1,605.16, which includes the refundfrom the cleaning Please confirm with a legally binding document stating that following the settlement of this dispute,all allegations against Day Furs will be dropped
