Revdex.com:
I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and find that this resolution would be satisfactory to me.  Belmont carpets resolved the issue and completed the job at a discounted rate.  However, it remains a fact that the salesman tried to charge me $500 extra  for carpet that was not ordered (total that would have been charged = $8500 (price was $40/sq.yd. & only 200 sq.yds. were ordered).  I do not consider this a mistake, but an unethical action on the part of the salesman.  Management reassured me that this is not a business-wide practice, and that this was an isolated occurrence.  I am satisfied with the resolution, but I do not believe that this was a mistake.

We received the notification of this complaint on April 30, 2014, As of that date resolution of the situation was already in process.  The carpet had been ordered and the installers were already on site completing the installation.  Management had reviewed the situation and agreed that it...

was the mistake of the salesperson.  Belmont had informed the consumer that there would be no additional charge for the carpet that was needed to finish the job.  At the time the customer was to pay the balance due on the contract which was not increased from the original amount, the customer was given a discount of $250.00 to go out a have a nice dinner for their inconvienence.  At that time the customer was extremely happy and satisfied with the installation and the resolution of the complaint.
In business mistakes can be made and we do our best to resolve them.  As of this time we are not aware of any additional problems with the consumer and believe them to be happy.

Review: Belmont Carpet and Flooring installed flooring materials on my stairway renovation project, and used inferior materials to finish the bottom step. Bottom step is made of wood, and is stained and clear coated with acrylic. The finish material was not suitable for floors and was destroyed by common floor cleaning chemicals. I have contacted Belmont and requested that the bottom step be refinished. Belmont refused to remedy the issue. Contract was dated June 26, 2015. I have also complained to the state contractor license board.Desired Settlement: Refinish/clear coat the bottom step with an appropriate material.

Review: On November 3, 2014 I purchased wood flooring in reliance upon the flooring sample and representations made to me by their sales person Terry [redacted] It was represented to me by Mr. [redacted] that the actual flooring I would receive would have the same uniform color as the sample and would not contain wood filler.

I took my time picking out a floor sample and during each visit to the store stated to Mr. [redacted] that I am looking for a quiet harmonious look.

After I had purchased 28 boxes for a 803sf floor and they were installed by my contractor the floor did not look like the sample.

The flooring installed was a mix-match of dark and light colors, contained substantial amounts of filler, and was materially different from the sample.

I went back to the store and Mr. [redacted] would not even want to look at my installed floor pictures. all he would say: "My hands are tied."

After going into the store again, this time with a male friend, Mr. [redacted] offered me 2 free boxes given from the manufacturer to "patch the worst spots".

I requested to file a complaint with the manufacturer to have their representative contact me while I was in the store and also via email to Mr. [redacted]

No response from either party.

In late December I went back to the store to look at the other sample they had of the floor I purchased. Mr. [redacted] was a sales person in the store that day.

Mr. [redacted] assured me that the floor would have the same uniform color as this sample. Even when I showed him a close up picture of black fillers in my flooring, he stated: "Oh, no, no, this sample will not have any fillers at all!"

On January 20th I wrote a letter via certified mail to Belmont Carpets & Woodflooring D.B.A. [redacted] & [redacted], explaining the situation and demanding payment for material and labor (total of $7,805) by January 27th otherwise I would pursue with a complaint to the Revdex.com and a lawsuit without any further notice.

The letter was delivered on Jan 22nd at 12:01pm and no response to this dayDesired Settlement: Payment of the material and labor installed.

Total of $7,805.00

Review: We purchased carpet from Belmont. Our salesman, [redacted], came to the property and measured for carpet installation. He says he's "been in the business for 20 years." He gave us an invoice that stated the approximate square yardage. It says, "approx. 200 sq. yds.". In fact, when he came to measure, I distinctly remember him saying he measured and it was 200 sq. yds, but that he would order a little extra so that we wouldn't run out. Upon installation, the house was left without carpet on two staircases and two closets. No one called to explain what was going on. Only after I called two days later, it was explained to me that they ran out of carpet. One day after that, [redacted] texts me and says the additional carpet will cost us an additional $1995. When I told him we did not have the money, he then reduced the price to $1000. He measured, it was his "mistake". In reality, I believe he is dishonest and is simply trying to get more money out of us. How could someone that has "been doing this for 20 years" make that big of a "mistake". I have requested the factory invoice and as of yet have not received a copy. I fully intend to have a number of carpet companies come out and measure to prove that [redacted] and Belmont Carpet and Wood are dishonest and are engaging in unethical sales practices.Desired Settlement: They should finish the job with no additional charge. It was their "mistake" and they have pushed our move in date back by a week and made it extremely difficult for us to move in to our new home before we are required to move out of our current one. Because of this "mistake" we will have to pay extra rent because we have already given our 30 day notice and this "mistake" has caused us to delay our move-in date.
