Belmont Driving School Reviews (2)

paid for driving school in april of 2014. my [redacted] was eligible for her drivers license in june 2014. on roads still incomplete 7/10/14 in april of 2014 I paid belmont driving school 500 for drivers education for my child. she was eligible for her license in june of 2014. several calls to the driving school were made and we were told they would call to schedule her on road times. as of july XX XXXX she still has to complete 10 more on roads out of the 12 required.Desired Settlementi would like them to schedule the remaining on road instruction in a timely fashion. Business Response Student was already called with dates of 7/15, 7/16, and 7/17.I called 7/14/2014 with dates and times for remainder lessons. Second call by myself. Student given schedule via telephone tonight. Message left on answering machine and no response as yet.Consumer Response (The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)the student was called long after she was eligible for her drivers license to schedule these on roads which should be complete by now. this company was paid in full, up front, back in feb. and here we are a month AFTER this student should have had her license and on roads remain incomplete. unacceptable. I want the remaining on roads completed by the end of july. Final Business Response I'm still waiting on an okay from [redacted] in regards to all scheduled driving lessons. [redacted] given all scheduled lessons and okay with them.Last one on August 1st.Final Consumer Response (The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)again point not received by driving school. THIS SHOULD BE DONE ALREADY! the "[redacted]" you speak of is actually the [redacted] who has made several attempts to contact the driving school who then apparently only returns calls during non-business hours. the child in question has a job and hobby that require a lot of time during this time of year which is the whole reason she took her drivers ed so early in the year and planned her vacations AFTER the time she should have had her license. this company is a joke! I will go to facebook and other social media to share my experience!

My conversation today with [redacted] was filled with insults from her and mostly directed at my child. She also threatened legal actions against meI had to call Belmont today to inform them that my son would not be able to drive because someone stole his wallet from a gym last night leaving him without a permit. [redacted] immediately says "again!" My son did in fact misplace his wallet last week and we had some rescheduling to do then. My issue is really where the conversation went from this point, especially since she states that she is in fact, the owner.[redacted] immediately declared that this is a "pattern" of my son, how he showed up to the first on road without a permit, I told her that if he did, I wasn't made aware. My son, did ride in the car that day as "observation." She also said that this is "obviously a problem with your son, NOT Belmont." She stated that "EVERY other child seems to be able to show up, AS SCHEDULED" [redacted] also wanted to point out that it was ONLY my son who has never called to schedule on roads." As I had explained to her in a previous conversation, I work evenings and need to be involved in his scheduling. She at that time, told me that my son was the ONLY one who needed a parent to help with scheduling. Hes 16, a minor. and yes, I need to be involved, I explained. With each conversation, her tone of voice has been accusatory, rude, demeaning, etc. I then said that I would think she would feel sorry for him, as his personal items were stolen and this was indeed out of our control...It was just more of how irresponsible [redacted] is..Honestly, by this time I was close to tears.I did then say that since our experience has been negative, I intended on sharing that with friends, and that her review on the Belmont website would reflect our concerns with the way my son has been treated..This is when she told me that she will be calling her lawyer for defamation of character if I so chose to do that...am I not allowed to be honest in a review? Must I be treated this way? By a business owner? Is it ok for her to speak about a child this way? As a parent I am shocked, I have never had a business owner/representative speak to me in such a way.My concern is that she will now make it difficult for [redacted] to complete this course and get his licenseDesired SettlementI think a refund, for being treated so horribly is fair. However, it is more important to me that I hear that this is NOT OK from the Revdex.com. Speaking about a child should be done with respect. Speaking to your CUSTOMERS should always be handled in a professional manner. Business Response [redacted] was scheduled to begin his first driving lesson and did not have his Learner's permit with him.His Instructor( a retired [redacted] Police Officer) did not allow him to drive. Per [redacted] Law He has to have a permit on his person whenever operating a vehicle. He was given a complete schedule of all driving lessons. He was eligible in [redacted] for his Driver's License. With three lessons left we were informed that he lost his permit. He had to be rescheduled again( There are charges for late cancellations and no-shows but he was not charged) He was rescheduled again immediately. We received another call and we were informed that his wallet had been stolen and could not reschedule until after he went to the [redacted] and got another Learner's Permit( It is illegal todrive in [redacted] without a Permit)We received a call from his father informing us that he received his permit from the [redacted] and again we rescheduled his last two driving lessons immediately. He has completed his Driver Education program.[redacted] has prolonged the procedure of obtaining a Driver's License by not having a Learner's Permit for all driving lessons. It is the responsibility of the student to have their permits for all lessons per [redacted] law. He was never charged for three missed lessons and any delay in obtaining his License was not on Belmont Driving School's behalf but due to [redacted]'s misplacing of his Learner's Permit on numerous occasions.Consumer Response (The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)This response from Belmont Driving School is ABSOLUTELY not acceptable. My reason is very simple. My complaint had NOTHING to do with the school not allowing [redacted] to drive without his permit. There was never a time when I asked, or expected, that [redacted] WOULD be allowed to drive without his permit, that would be a ridiculous request.I will say again that my complaint came solely from the way I was spoken to when I called to let [redacted] the self identified owner, know that [redacted] had his wallet stolen at the gym the night before. I was merely calling to reschedule his lesson. This situation was out of our hands.Instead of a polite, calm, business owner that a paying customer would expect, I was talking to a very rude lady who immediately started to call my child "irresponsible", and she stated that there was an "obvious problem with my child, NOT the driving school." She also stated that she "had NEVER had a child that was so irresponsible, where they couldn't finish in a timely manner." Even after I expressed how sorry I was about having to reschedule, as the situation was out of our control, she continued to be angry and hostile toward me and my son. I was shaken up from the conversation and near tears. This is when I asked to speak to an owner or someone higher up in charge, and then she identified herself as the owner and stated that there was no one else I could speak to..I was truly shocked that an owner of a business, who serves the public would have spoken to a PAYING CUSTOMER like this...I explained that I was going to now have a negative review of her business and share my experience with friends and family. I said, "Doesn't that bother you? that I would have a negative review if people asked me about my experience at Belmont?" It was at this point that the owner, [redacted] stated that she was going to contact her lawyer and sue me for defamation of character..This Business owner needs to be held accountable for her words. The Public needs to be aware of how a customer was treated and she should respond to the actual complaint, not explain how [redacted] has finished the school...we had no choice but to let him finish, [redacted] is too much money to walk away from when he only had 2 on roads to finish..
