Complaint Refund for hearing aids was short $ 650.00.I purchased the Beltone hearing aids on 9-15-2013 for $ 5,900.00. I received the aids on 9-24 and returned them on 10-22-2013. At the time of purchase I was told by Mr. [redacted] ,hearing instrument specialist that" The hearing aids are covered 100% for the first 30 days even if you were to lose them". I lost one hearing aid and they gave me a replacement to use. I returned both of the hearing aids on 10-22-2013 and asked for the return of my $ 5,900.00. I was rebated $ 4,350.00 on 12-6 2013 after 45 days. I did contact the owner of the franchise, who stated there was a fee for the lost hearing aid because I did not choose to keep them. Mr. [redacted] went as far to offer me $ 300.00 out of his own pocket, he was sorry for misleading me about the guarantee. He told me to pick up the money at his office, another lie. At the time of purchase I did ask what would happen if the hearing aid were lost , they are 100 % guaranteed was his answer. I have a signed contract with Mr. [redacted] signature waving any restocking fees , damages or loss of the hearing aids. Mr. [redacted] also tried to get me to keep the aids another week or two, past the 30 day return period. I am tired of being lied to by this guy. I consider myself lucky to have gotten back most of my money. I understand the delay of my refund, extra 15 days was do to the sale of this franchise.Desired SettlementRefund of $ 650.00 as promised by contract.Business Response Customer purchased two hearing aids at a cost of $5,990. At the time of purchase he signed the purchase agreement agreeing to 3 year LS&D, loss and damage, coverage. The signed purchase agreement states "a deductible charge will apply on lost or damaged hearing aids." Customer was unwilling to pay the deductible for a replacement aid and decided to return just the one hearing aid then demanding a full refund. Normally he would have been charged the cost for the hearing aid that he lost, $2,995, however, we made a onetime concession in this instance and charged just a portion of the LS&D deductible, $640.Copy of purchase agreement attachedFinal Consumer Response At the time of purchase I have a copy signed and initialed by [redacted] waving all loss , damage or restocking fees for the hearing aids for the 30 day trial period. Mr. [redacted] stated that I would receive a full refund. His license # [redacted] to fit people for hearing aid should be taken away. He signed and initialed the purchase agreement to wave all fees. I feel that the Belltone franchise should be investigated for duping customers.Final Business Response My response to Mr. [redacted], Case #XXXXXXXX, is as follows:We have provided the Revdex.com with a copy of the signed and dated purchase agreement identical to that of the customers. The routinely charged restocking fee was waived, struck through as customer mentions. The contract has a separate paragraph with a heading "Warranty" that is clear regarding the LS&D coverage and both the customers copy as well as our copy of the purchase agreement indicates that a deductible for LS&D would apply if a hearing aid or aids were lost. Again, since just one hearing aid was returned, LS&D coverage was not used, we normally would have only refunded the cost of what was actually returned. However, we made a special onetime concession to the customer and charged just $640, the LS&D deductible, rather than the actual cost of the one aid, $2,995, that was never returned.
