The WORST company ever. I am taking my time to write this in hopes of saving others of thousands of wasted dollars on this company. My parents had saved for quite some time to make the investment to get plantation blinds in our home.
Everything was so nice and smooth when booking our appointment and James (salesman for Beltway Blinds) greeted us in our home. He was nice and played the typical salesman part. We did not sign the first day, a huge quote (think 5 digits) for a home less than 2,000 square feet seemed a bit high to us. Of course he called back the next day with a small quote, and then answered his phone every single time for us, or at least called us back within a decent amount of time. ONLY UNTIL THE CONTRACT WAS SIGNED. Then we could never get ahold of him or never received a return phone call to discuss why our order had taken SIX MONTHS to complete. We signed the contract in August, a few weeks later, I guess the company doesn’t trust the salesperson to measure so someone else had to come out. Which meant taking time off of work to wait around for another person to measure our windows for our order. My parents ordered in the summer because they wanted to make sure we had them in time for Christmas. James told them oh that would never take that long and we definitely will have them in by Christmas, more than likely way before Thanksgiving. We thought this was great and went forward. However, Thanksgiving came around and no phone call, nothing from the company that the order was going to be pushed into December. Finally, in December we called the company wondering a timeframe for our order and there were a million excuses from them; “our office is moving”, “we had another big order that we had to place in front of yours”, etc. etc. We even received a nasty phone call from “CJ” because we had called too many times (once a day) for an entire week just trying to get an answer from anyone who would talk to us about when we were going to get our blinds. CJ was so rude and told us that because our order had 2 french doors that the order for plantation blinds on the door took longer than the 12 weeks max promise because the doors had handles on them?! How ridiculous! I am no door expert but I can tell you that most doors DO in fact have handles and from a company that is suppose to be so wonderful, you would think they would know that also. The company finally called and put our blinds in the second week of JANUARY. After calling and calling and calling they finally came. At one point towards the end of December I thought we had just plainly been scammed and would never hear back from them because they just simply would not call us back. The day before our appointment I called to confirm the date and time with CJ. He said he would call me after the installation to make sure everything was OK. HAHA, GUESS WHAT, another mistake because the installation couldn’t be completed because the measurements WERE WRONG! After TWO people measured. What a waste, another day I’ll have to take off work because I will have to wait around AGAIN for this company. So now, finally, the end of February, another 5 weeks of waiting, after we were told it should only take 2 weeks to get our correct blinds, we have had the job completed and we are still not happy with them. The sunlight comes through the sides and the blinds, they are around the blinds falls off, someone even tried to fix them when they were here and apparently you are suppose to use tape to keep them up we were told. It’s really a shame how this company operates and scams their customers. We are also big supporters of supporting businesses especially that operate in USA. However, these blinds we found out are shipped from CHINA. Another reason they job took SIX MONTHS to be completed! We are really dissatisfied with them! I also want to bring up a huge point. We went with this company because they had the best positive reviews on their account. However, PLEASE NOTE this important point, this company GIVES DISCOUNTS if you write a GOOD REVIEW! THEY ARE PAYING CUSTOMERS TO WRITE GOOD REVIEWS! How ridiculous is that?! BE AWARE and take your money somewhere else. Even if it costs a little more, you will have a nice product. Trust me when I say, YOU PAY FOR WHAT YOU GET! Another note, if you decide to even get a quote from this company, STAY CLEAR OF JAMES, he is terrible to work with! If this company even had a little bit of customer service, we would have been so much happier. Even if James would have kept in contact with us and called to say “Hey, sorry your order isn’t going to be in by Thanksgiving, or Christmas, or New Years, etc etc. and will take SIX months to complete” we would have been happier just by being kept in the loop and not continuously calling and asking why it takes SIX MONTHS to complete our order for a home so small! Please, take my advice and steer clear from this company, they are the absolute worst!s

Review: On March 9, 2013we ordered a motorized skylight shade from Beltway Blinds and gave them a deposit of 1160.00. After several phone calls regarding the status of my order they finally came to install it On April 23, 2013. The installers spent 4 hours in my home reading the installation manual only to install it upside down. Bare wires were hanging from the blinds and the unit did not work. The next day the battery pack fell from the ceiling, damaging my shelving unit and chipping the tile floor. I called the owner, [redacted], to be told that he sent his best installers, the bare wire was not a fire hazard and he would send the same installers out to fix it. A week later the same two installers came back, spent several hours trying to install the blinds, but failed to get it to work properly. In fact, it is still hanging down from the ceiling. After many phone calls to the owner we still have not had our issue resolved. We have paid him a total of $2,320 yet do not have usable blinds. We keep calling only to be ignored or at best lied to. This saga has gone on since march 9 th. Can help us get our money back?Desired Settlement: Can you help get my money back from the terrible person?

Review: In August 2013 we had blinds installed in our home. We were not satisfied with the quality of the blinds. They were very cheaply made and poorly put together. On August 16, 2013, I contacted Beltway and was told by Stephanie that a manager named [redacted] would call me back. I never received a call from him or anyone else. About one week later I received a call from [redacted]. who agreed to come to the house and look at the blinds. Some of the blinds we not installed properly which did not provide adequate privacy and the blind that was installed on our basement door is too narrow for the window. It is about an inch to short on both sides. We immediately asked for a refund and asked that they remove the blinds from our house. We were within the 30 days return period. [redacted]. took the product back to the manufacturer who agreed that the quality of the blinds is substandard. We were offered an upgrade at no additional cost, we accepted. On September 26, 2013 the new blinds were installed. My husband called me at work during the installation and I spoke to the installer. He did not have all the window treatments (why come out). The blind he brought to replace the too small on the basement door is too wide now. He said they would give us a credit because we cannot use either window treatment. We have two to three windows that are not accounted for. He said he did not have the order but he would measure the window in my third bedroom and personally take our order to the office and have someone contact me immediately. I explained to him my frustration and dissatisfaction with his company's handling of this matter. We have been in our house since August and still have no decent window treatments. When I got home from work I looked at the blinds and screamed. Many of them are crooked and most of them when completely pulled down do not touch the window ledge. When we ordered window treatments we expected to have privacy in our home. On September 28, 2013 and October 11, 2013 I left a message with Beltway to have someone call me immediately. No one has called me regarding this issue.Desired Settlement: We want the money we paid and they can have their blinds. We have a brand new home and have reasonable expectations about the products we purchase and services we we receive.
