Dear Revdex.com: We wanted to reach out to you to provide some new information regarding our complaint about Beltway DoorsAfter three phone requests, LC*** did credit our *** the $deposit they took without getting our authorization to proceedThe *** company confirmed this yesterday afternoonBeltway failed to address the fact they pressured us to repair/replace a garage door which was not broken including all springs and cables. *** Garage Door reattached the cables free of charge when they came out to do an estimate on Thursday January and he said there was nothing wrong with the mechanics of the doorHe also said the springs, cables were new. The door is not insulated, but it worksLC*** of Beltway hung up on me late Friday after telling me about the credit which posted earlier this weekHe would not discuss the motor repair from April and again acted as if he had no recollection of that transactionOur concern is as follows, Beltway charged us $to replace the garage door motor back in April 2015. The cables and springs were also replaced, and in January 19, 2016, they then suggested to replace the same cables and springs which were just replaced by them six months earlier! Brent said they were "old"...not hardlyThis included the metal wheel
which slides on the trolley to open and close the door. According to other local companies, the fair price for a *** motor is between $and $It is apparent this company typically charges double market price and pretends items are broken to boost their salesUnethical and fradulent.
We would like to get $back for the over payment in April and also, $in damages for misleading us twice regarding what was really going on with our doorIt has caused me stress and worryI am disabled, unable to work, have psorioatic arthritis, spondylditis, scolosis and two hernaited discs, but not receiving disability, major home repairs are a financial hardship
for my familyThis company preys on people who are vulnerable. We are grateful *** was honest and gave us a true assessment of our situation
Thanks you for your time and attention,

I called Beltway Garage doors b/c I was in the market for new Garage door openers for my home After getting quotes of $450/per opener installed from several places Beltway Garage quoted me $for all installed When after they installed the openers they tried to get my Daughter to give them the Credit Card on a blank invoice w/no prices written on it The Owner, Lilly then called me screaming on the phone that the price was $per opener, which I told her that I would have never agreed to that when I had quotes of half that amount She then proceeded to tell her installers to take down the new openers and that they would be fired if they put the old ones back in Now I have no garage door openers and I have to get new ones installed all over again

Beltway Garage Doors did not fulfill any of its promises and representations, after accepting my 50 percent deposit, which remains un-refunded, after numerous service breaches and unsupported excuses. They promised to contact me within 30 days after my new garage door arrived at one of their facilities. Months later I initiated a call and was told that they had called my number which did not work. My number worked fine and was on the invoice. The manager called me back saying he could not find my invoice. I sent it to him and he could not find the door. All of this was taking time and promises to call me back went unfulfilled. After another week, I again called, spoke to the manager who said the door had been found damaged and they were sending it back to the manufacturer and would call me. I was then told the door was in and ready, but there would be a delay in installation.
Finally, a date was set and a time between 10 and 11 a.m. No one arrived. At 11:45 I texted and received a response that the technician was 5 minutes away. Another 45 minutes went by. I texted again and was told that rain or traffic was holding him up. At 1 p.m., no one had arrived, my day off from work was wasted and I mentioned some of the sloppy practices. A return text claimed that a customer with a last name matching mine in another city was getting a door installed that day instead. I demanded return of my money and declared breach of contract. Later that evening, I received a text authored by "a single mother with two kids" pleading for me to reconsider for the sake of the children, emotional blackmail whether unfounded or not.
Sloppy practices, likely deliberate misrepresentations, poor or nonexistent record keeping, repeated failings rafter opportunities to cure are the conclusions from this experience with Beltway Garage Doors.

Work done is average, passes. Parts are totally, excessively overpriced.

To Whom It May Concern:

The purpose of this letter is to complain about the difficulty I am having in getting reimbursed for the purchase of a remote control that did not work.

On August 5, 2013 two staff members from this Company came to my home and replaced a key pad (small box outside the garage door) that was not working. At the same time they sold me a new remote control that I tried from inside the garage and it opened the door. However, the next day when I tried to use it as I was leaving the house I discovered that it did not work from the outside of the garage. I must add that the only reason why I purchased their remote control was because I thought that it would be the right one to use with the new box. That was not the case. Fortunately,

I had an old remote opener that I had been using and it worked all right.

I immediately called their office to report this problem and on August 8th the remote control was taken back by the same people who had installed the key pad on August 5th. As you will see from the enclosed copy of their invoice, it is indicated that "There is a 30% restocking fee on all returned merchandise." I must also add that this Company does not accept payment by credit cards.

Since more than a week went by and I did not receive the $70.00 they owed me, I called them and was told that they were sending the check by mail, but it did not arrive. Consequently, and since more than three weeks had gone by without any action on their part, I called on Saturday, August 31st, and spoke to one of their staff by the name of Josh, who was very apologetic and told me that he would deliver the check to my home on Tuesday, Sept. 3rd. He had not shown up nor called and by 3:30PM on Tuesday I called again and was told that he had not gone to work that day and the check would be sent to me by mail and I should get it by Monday, September 9th. Needless to say, I was really mad about the way this matter had been handled and told them that I would report their Company to you if the check had not arrived by then. Sure enough, the check did not arrive today.

I would be most grateful if you could help me with this problem. I get the impression - -from their attitude—that they have no intention of reimbursing me the amount they owe me. It is obvious that they are taking advantage of the fact that I am an 84-year old woman. I would appreciate very much whatever you can do about it.

I shall be out of town from September 11 through the 16th, but I shall be looking forward to hearing from you upon my return and thank you in advance for your kind attention to this matter.

Dear **. [redacted]:

This will acknowledge receipt of your letter dated September 16, 2013 regarding my complaint against Beltway Garage Doors, Inc.

Thanks to your intervention and fast action on this case, I have just received today a check in the amount of $70.00 to settle this matter. For some strange reason they dated their check August 16/13, as you will notice from the enclosed copy.

I am very grateful to you for your kind assistance in solving this problem.

Regards.

Sincerely yours,

Review: I called Beltway Doors to have a spring replaced on my garage door(1 had broken)and was given a quote of 85.00 for the springs and 65.00 for the service charge.I was given a bill for 325.00.He had replaced 4 pulleys at a charge of 90.00(the most expensive pulleys I found online were 4.00 each) without me knowing or given an option until it was completed and when I questioned the bill I was told the "secretary had quoted the price and didn't know what she was talking about".I considered just accepting the bill but do not want anyone else cheated by this company and it's apparent dishonesty.Had I known what the bill was going to be they would not have gotten my business.Desired Settlement: I want my bill to be adjusted to the amount of my original estimate which I considered high but accepted. They need to be honest with customers, ask about additional repairs and quote a price before just doing the work without permission and presenting a bill that doesn't even come close to matching the quote. As far as I can tell the work was done correctly but the cost was absurd.
