Review: My former realtor, [redacted], picked up his lockbox containing my house key on 12 August 2014, two days after our contract expired. He did not have his swipe card with him to remove my house key. He said that he would mail the key to me immediately. Three days later, I still had not received my key. I then went to his office to pick it up. He was not there and another realtor called him. [redacted] said I could drive to his house to get my key - this was rude and unprofessional on his part. I called him once again on Saturday and left a message telling him to mail my key back to me as he said he would. I still have not received my house key. I'm now being forced to pay to have my locks re-keyed, since my key is missing and I've had no correspondence from [redacted] as to whether or not I can expect to ever receive my key.Desired Settlement: Advantage Realty/[redacted] should pay for the locksmith to re-key my door because of their irresponsible, unprofessional behavior.

I regret Ms. [redacted] felt the need to do this. I picked up the lockbox as she noted, on Tuesday. She came by Advantage Realty office on Friday, during which I suggested she come by my Home Office, no realtor with Advantage has a office at this location, to which she said she would. Only 1/2 mile away from Advantage's office. She never showed. I waited one day expecting her to come and pick up. When she didn't, I developed a letter to her on Saturday, in which I thanked her for letting me try to help her, and mailed with her key the same day. In a voicemail on Saturday, I received the following voicemail, which I still have:

"[redacted] this is [redacted], you said you would mail my house key back to me and as of yet have not received it. I expect you to mail it to me immediately and I expect to receive no later than Tuesday, if I do not have in my hands at that time, we are going to have some problems. Thank you."

I hope you understand that no disrespect was meant to Ms. [redacted]. She should have the letter I sent as well as her key.

I have reviewed the response offer made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint. For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.

I did not tell Mr. [redacted] that I would go to his home to pick up my key. Again, I felt that he was unprofessional in even suggesting that I do that. He told me he lived across the road from the realty office. Since he was so close, the right thing to do would have been for him to bring the key to me. Also, I did not receive his letter and my key until more than a week later. It should not have taken more than one day for me to receive my key back if he had put it in the mail immediately. I had already had my lock changed by the time I received my old key back. I feel that either he or his office should compensate me for this expense.
