Review: We signed a contract with the business to complete a remodeling project on our Master bedroom and bath. The contract contained warranty provisions on workmanship and material defect. The contract was paid in full and the project was completed. Before the project was entirely complete, various significant defects in workmanship began to appear. The business sent subcontractors to complete some warranty repairs but did not repair all of the defects in workmanship. Specifically, the tile floor River Bend installed in the project began to separate from the sub-floor creating a cosmetic defect and safety hazard. The business owner, Dave W[redacted], inspected the floor and agreed it was a warranty issue and promised to repair the defect. Over the next six-nine months, we sent numerous emails and made numerous phone calls to obtain repairs. Mr W[redacted]'s responses were typically to promise to send repairmen, but repairmen didn't come. In Oct 2014, I sent certified (return receipt) letters to the company offering a compromise resolution; the letters were refused when delivered. I sent the text of the certified letter in an email to Mr W[redacted]. I offered a compromise solution. If he sent me the cost of me hiring a tile specialist to make the repair I would provide a letter releasing him from that warranty issue. I stated that if I did not receive a reply, I would pursue other remedies. Mr W[redacted] came to our house and agreed he needed to complete the repair, even stating he would extend the warranty on the repair by two additional years. We scheduled a date for the repair. On that agreed upon date, Mr W[redacted] told us his "helper" had a family emergency and the work had to be rescheduled. We agreed on a rescheduled date. The afternoon before the second rescheduled date, Mr W[redacted] called and said he had a family emergency and had to reschedule again.
