Mr [redacted] initally came to Suburban for an Estimate to Repair on December 9th Mr [redacted] pointed out the damage in which he wanted repaired due to his civic being damaged in his drivewayGreg B [redacted] wrote an estimate for that damageThe damage was at the rear fender lip at body side molding line and scraped horizontally to almost rear edge of the front doorThe estimate was written accordingly and reviewed with Mr [redacted] At that point, Mr [redacted] was given a Preliminary Estimate.The rocker panel was never discussed with MrB***Furthermore, the rocker panel is unrelated to this accident, therefore, would not be covered as part of this "claim"He advised Mr [redacted] that once the car is in production, additional damage may be found and they would notify him at that time with the cost and for approval by him and or his wifeMr [redacted] then advised MrB [redacted] that the 3rd party would be paying via a checkMrB [redacted] then advised Mr [redacted] that Suburban Collision does not accept third party checksThe only form of payment Suburban would accept is Visa, Mastercard or Discover or a personal check from Mr [redacted] for not more than $1, Mr [redacted] contacted MrB [redacted] when he received a check from the third party and wanted to schedule for repairMrB [redacted] reiterated to Mr [redacted] that Suburban does not accept 3rd party checks, however, he would work with him and told him he could mail the check and once we deposited it would take to business days to clearOnce we received notification the check cleared, we would contact him and at that point he could drop his carMr [redacted] dropped his car on Sunday, January 10th and we received the check the following day January 11thMrB [redacted] called the number we were given and Mrs [redacted] answered the phoneMrB [redacted] then explained to Mrs [redacted] that Suburban did not accept third party checksShe understood and instructed MrB [redacted] to "void" the check and they would pay via credit card when they picked up their vehicleOnce this was resolved, the car was placed in production Suburban's technician assessed the damage and notified MrB*** the door skin needs to be replaced for the proper repair due to the amount of stretch to the steelMrB [redacted] contacted Mrs [redacted] on January 12th at 1:pm to discuss the replacement and cost of the doorskinIn addition, he communicated to Mrs [redacted] he lowered the body and paint labor rates to help absorb the additional costs of repairsAt that point, she approved the additional costs and the doorskin was ordered The final repair was completed on January 20th the customer notified and came to pickup their vehicleThe customer was very happy with the work we performedAt that point, he pointed out the rocker damage and wanted repaired for freeGreg instructed him he would contact him with the cost to repairThe customer then left the premisesGreg reached customer and gave him the cost to repair of $Also, Greg told the customer the damage to the rocker was not related to the accident; it was probable due to a landscaping timber or stone which may have damaged the rocker With all that said, Suburban will not pay for the rocker to be repairedIf Mr [redacted] would like us to repair the rocker, he may bring it back and pay the
