Complaint: [redacted] I am rejecting this response because:Hello this issue is still unresolved as they refused to adjust the payment on their end of thingsI'm under the assumption, the next move would be to involve "Small Claims Court" Regards, [redacted]
August 22, 2017Dear *** ***,I am responding to the complaint of *** *** ***, *** *** was given a treatment plan which provides the office charges and an estimation for his insurance benefit. There is a disclaimer on the bottom of his treatment plan that states
"Insurance coverage is only an estimateGuarantor is responsible for all treatment not covered by insurance." We request *** *** pay his estimated portion at the time of service since he has had trouble paying his bills with our office in the pastHis account needed to be turned over to a collection agency timesHis charges were $and he had a previous $balanceWe told him his estimated portion was $His insurance paid $which was a little less than we had estimatedHis final balance after applying the insurance payment is $The patient refuses to pay even though we told him many times that his portion was an estimateWe could have requested that he pay for the entire charges at the time of service and have his insurance reimburse him since he has not held, a good credit standing with our officeAs a courtesy to him we waited on insurance payment and asked him for his estimated portion onlyHe states in his claim that he was given an "estimate for services"The charges were not changed however the insurance paid less that we were estimatingWe believe the patient is responsible for the $balance.Regards,Joanne MOffice Manager

September 19, 2017Dear [redacted], I am commenting on [redacted]'s response. [redacted] was given an estimate for insurance benefits. We gave him this estimate based on the information provided by his insurance company. The insurance company and our treatment plan states that it is an estimate and not a guarantee of payment. We did collect his estimated portion before treatment was completed due to past collection problems. We did wait for his insurance to pay their portion for [redacted]'s convenience. [redacted] had a 2-part procedure completed. A temporary restoration is made until the permanent restoration comes back for the lab. The patient is given instructions on what foods to avoid since this temporary is seated with temporary cement. Occasionally a temporary does need to be recemented. [redacted] was scheduled the next day and had his temporary recemented. Again, the only concern that [redacted] states is with the $69 balance resulting from the insurance payment being less than estimated. No charges were changed, his permanent restorations fit properly and he has had no problems or concerns. We can only estimate what an insurance will pay. He was aware as stated on his treatment plan that he was given an "estimate". He is responsible for the balance after his insurance payments were received as stated on the printed treatment plan he received before treatment was started.Regards,Joanne M. Office Manager
