I have received a verbal estimate as to cost to repair line...I requested a written estimate today....because the plumber who did the original work now believes the cause of the leak to be from a plugged drain...why am I obligated to pay for someone to perform this based on the advice who improperly did it in the first place? the verbal estimate serviceman came out and stated it needed to be redone as it was not correct height and size of new line would cause an issue with existing smaller line...an issue that should have been noted upon original installation..but was not...we were advised upon the 2nd service man's inspection of plumbing that it did not a clog

Customer wanted washing machine installed to 1st floor from upstairsWe tied on to the same drain line & vent that was going to the upstairs washer, as the customer wanted.Customer complained of soap suds coming from drain and then later called that water was coming out.I informed her that
plumbing code requires 3" horizontal drain and can go vertically with 2"(Old washer hooked back on to was 1/2" pipe) I then told her she could try to have a drain service come out to run a cable through the 1/2" pipe in case there may be an obstruction

Complaint ID 10730035The work was properly done, as per the homeowners request, reused the same drain & venting system that was originally there. Our company was not instructed to install the proper size lines for the washer. It was simply moving it from one floor to another, (again using the same exact drain & vent that had been used for years by the owner.)Code now wants a 3" horizontal line and 2" vertical line to a washer.I tried to save homeowner expense by trying a drain service first in case line was obstructed.Robert H[redacted]
