I asked that all payments be stopped and woke up this morning to a payment being taken outNow they tell me they cant stop the payment only the bank canWhen I called the bank the bank said only the merchant canAnd now because they dont like the way I talk to them after theh stole dollars they hang up when I call themNow because of them I can not pay my rent

I have never had a more frustrating experience with a business I could not even get my program off the ground as they would tell me what to do to activate my account, then I would go on my computer to do that and for some reason it did not work I am not an ignorant individual but their process of starting your program is RIDICULOUS and should not be so complicated I tried to resolve the issue by calling and the lady I spoke with kept speaking over me and would just not listen to me I decided then and their I would not do business with them I would not recommend this business to anyone!

Mmi counselor Debra S*** did my intake and emailed my proposal, outlining how much monthly payments would be, interest rates, and how much I will save$of $was through my credit unionMmi proposed interest rates of 0% for those accounts and my gap and old navyI went with this company and this program after fully questioning whether these proposed rates were accurateThe recording can be checked to verify thisI also have my forms that were sent to meI tried to add these credit union accounts in on Tuesday and was told there would be no rate reductionI'm appalled and feel completely deceivedThey've take money from me for "fees" and their program will save me nothing! Now I log onto my account and they went ahead and sent proposals to my credit unions without my authorizationdue to the interest rate deceptionMy old navy and gap are not at like I was told they would be either

Misinformation was given by initial contactReceived a malier stating they were trying to get in contact with me, but never didCustomer service representative was rude and uncooperative when I called in to find out why they were "trying to get in touch with me." Spoke with a supervisor who told me that information was provided as it needed to be when it wasn'tThe initial representative misspoke about the Refinance informationNo real help is ever given, just things like pay your mortgage as agreed, try to work with your current lender, etc

I know it was stated that the approval of the proposals to creditors are not guaranteed, but MMI really makes it seem as though they will be It was also not made clear to me that even though your first DMP payment is dispensed to creditors in what seems like ample time before the due date of your bills, you're actually at the mercy of not only how long it takes the creditors to receive that payment, but whether or not they approve the proposal in the first placeSo you may be left having paid the bulk DMP payment and the need to pay those bills whose due dates have approached during this process, having paid TWICE for almost all of the billsIn my case some creditors would not move the due date to accommodate the time it took for the payments to be received and/or the proposals to be approvedI did not budget for having to pay bills twiceWhen calling MMI about this I kept being told "we dispensed the money" and when calling the creditors they'd say "we haven't received the money!" so I was caught in the middle with due dates approaching and had to pay the bills having already paid them in the DMP paymentSo plan to pay ALL bills twice, even if their due dates are after the dispense date

I signed up with MMI in then dropped out during divorce in Re-signed in They helped negotiate lower rates with lenders (not just take your money as described in ONE negative review)Their program worksThe charge a minimal fee to provide this huge services for people that are struggling to payoff their credit card debtThey help with your payment budgetMy balances dropped down dramaticallyIn looking forward to owing absolutely nothing soon enoughThe staff and counsellors are courteous and professional when you callPlease keep helping peopleI appreciate how you've helped me over the past few years

Don't believe the initial hard sell I was told by my first counselor "don't worry I'll get all of this done for you without any further problems." Here's the truth:
(1) Budget to pay your creditor TWICE in days
(2) Totally IGNORE the intake counselor and expect the worst, not the best
(3) There is NO GUARANTEE a creditor will accept the proposal for reduced interest/payment planNONE Remember this
(4) Ensure that all of your accounts are current and in good standing during the review of the proposed debt management plan
(5) Keep paying your bills UNTIL the proposal has been accepted
(6) Pay any past due amounts that you creditors have as outstanding, these won't go away for at LEAST THREE (3) billing cycles, which means a 60-day late mark on your credit that will remain for years
(8) NEVER listen to any advice that tells you to not pay your creditors when they say you owe them
(10) Ultimately YOU ARE RESPONSIBLE TO YOUR CREDITORS, not MMI

I have found out my American Express account has been charged off even when I made all payments on time and the proposal has been accepted When I spoke to the supervisor Monica, she informed that Amex sends the account to charge off status as soon as you entr the debt management programThat was exactly what I wanted to avoid and I addresed that to my counselor when I first sign my documentThey did not disclose this information to me on purpose and when I asked for help, they said this has nothing to do with MMI and it is the credit card companyI felt MMI didn't do a job at all helping and protecting the customer, did not disclose the information fully and now I am in a worse credit standing than when I started Once I am in the program, the customer service would not do anything and I am on my ownI believe this is a scam because this wasn't the service I was guaranteed and everytime I call them I am advised to call the credit card company on my own

MMI is not bad, pretty much like most other debt management companies
The counselor's advice to me was that I should make more money to afford their proposed monthly payment, but whateverMy main beef is that they sent everyone an email in July advertising how "excited" they were about their new "new features" whereby you can change the date and amount of your monthly paymentExciting, eh? LolDO NOT TAKE ADVANTAGE OF THIS "EXCITING" "NEW FEATURE." Any change in the amount you pay or when you pay WILL result in penalties from your creditors that WILL throw your budget into a tailspin

I don't understand the negative reviews If you stick to your plan, there should be no problems I paid off $60,in credit card debt in five years Was it difficult? Yes, but I made a budget and was able to come out the other side debt-free MMI was able to slash the interest rates to 2% on many of my cards I was sent monthly statements detailing all transactions and never had a problem I just recommended MMI to my sister and would highly recommend them to anyone else

I really like MMI they have been good for usHow ever, these last few months have been very hard on us finiciallyMy husband had to have surgery and is out of work and I can't even pay on time what I owe MMII am very worried that we are going to lose our shirtsHaving said that they are a very good company

My experience with MMI was fantastic Initial interview was with a very helpful, professional woman I committed, followed their advice, and am now totally debt free All phone conversations were handled by people who were pleasant, helpful and gave accurate information They were very professional as well I heartily recommend MMI if you need assistance with managing your finances

My experience with Money Management International started out greatThe representatives are excellent at giving empathy on your first call and make it seem like an excellent idea to join their debt management programSix months into paying my MMI bill, I ran into financial turmoil with an extremely sick parent and became unable to make the paymentKnowing this well in advance of the payment date, I proactively reached out to MMI to let them know the situationAgain, excellent at consoling, they assured me that missing one month payment was OKThey said that my creditors are tolerant to only one month of missing a paymentAwesome, right? Wrong! I started making my payments the following month like normalTwo months later, I started receiving emails and mail from my creditors whom received payments from MMI that they had tried reaching out to my debt counselor to advise them that since I missed that payment (which was advised by MMI would be OK) I was ineligible of receiving help from a debt management counseling agency and had to make the payments on my account immediatelyPayments went up with my creditors a combined $per month (minimum payments)Meanwhile, I heard nothing from MMI about the issue of them paying too little to my creditorsReaching back out to MMI myself as a middle man, I was told that I was wrong and would never have been advised that it would be OK to miss a month and that the representative I spoke with ‘wrote it in her notes’ that she advised me I may be dropped from MMI for missing a payment with my creditorsWhat!?!? Such was not the case! I asked them to review the phone call, and they said only a supervisor could do that! Instead of being on the side of the consumer (me), the following representatives gave me nothing but attitude refusing me of speaking to their supervisor, etcThe only way to get MMI to communicate with your creditors is to call them and be on hold the entire time they are reaching out to your creditors (most recently hour and minutes phone hold time) otherwise it could take up to business days for MMI to contact the creditor on your behalfThen who knows how long to get a call back from MMI! As a debt counselor representing me, I felt like a burden to MMI when I needed them mostAnd if you’re looking for MMI to be proactive on your behalf as YOUR counselor, think again! Fake service in the beginning and terrible service when it really matters, thanks MMI

I am one year into my three year program with Money Management Incorporated (MMI) and I am very pleased My Credit Score was horrendous when I started - in hindsight I was just very responsible with credit cards in my early twenties I didn't have any extra cash so I signed up for store credit cards and just kept maxing them out I probably had ten accounts and $14,of credit card debt when I started the program My credit score was so bad when I started the program in September - around I don't know how this works for everyone, but I am pleased to see that my score has never gotten worse It has steadily increased every month by 5-points per month as i've made my on time payments I am very very happy with this service and recommend this to anyone who is looking to improve their credit ,their financial picture and their confidence

Terrible experience! This company does not pay the debt that they say they have, as I am still getting calls from 3rd party collections- one year after MMI says it's all paid upWhere did my money go, if not direct to the debt collector? I would've paid it myself had I known I'd be chasing paper trails a year later, when I thought all was complete and behind meI have requested to see every single transaction/payment that this company made on my behalf, to whom and when, for what amountIf you go through them, be sure to stay on them and your debt collector to be sure that your money is being applied exactly as it should be!

MMI has quietly and effectively helped me pay off a debt of 35K over the last yearsIn-person and online support and tools excellent
