insurance agency and we were working with *** ***'s employer to establish a new group health planThe employer provided information to us and we searched the market for a better solutionWe secured a proposal with *** *** that provided slightly better benefits at a slightly lower premiumWe presented that information to the employees during an open enrollment meeting and during the process of finalizing the employees' decisions new information came in from this groupThe underwriter at *** reviewed this new information and determined that the rates that were proposed would need to change significantlyUnfortunately, the new information that was provided to *** on 10/13/forced them to increase the rates by 50%We received the update from *** on 10/14/and delivered that news to the employerThe employer decided they still wanted the coverage and to pass the increase onto the employeesThe coverage was scheduled to begin on 10/15/so we had to move quickly to communicate with the employees the change in rate and to allow them to change their enrollment decisionsSome employees decided not to take the coverage and others, like *** ***, decided to stay with the coverage.The contract is between the employer and *** ***The employer accepted the rates and decided to implement those benefits effective 10/15/The employer decides what portion of the premium they are going to pass onto the employees and each employee has the option to elect or waive the coverageWe just assist in that process and help educate the employer or employees on the benefits.Let us know if you have any questions or if we can clarify any of the aboveWe certainly hope that we have provided you details to understand better what transpired with this complaint.Sincerely,Phil D***Benefits Network Insurance Agency, Inc.PresidentCincinnati Office Dayton OfficeLake Forest Drive, Suite #Cincinnati, OH Kettering Boulevard, Suite #Dayton, OH Toll Free: Local: 513.,Fax: | Local: 937,Fax:
