I just saw these latest emails.  I did talk with the customer and explain that the price differentials were due to  a change in oil specifications between her old car, the 2004 [redacted] an and the new truck, which is a 2014 Silverado.  I explained that her [redacted] had...

only a conventional oil requirement, while the 2014 Silverado requires a DEXOS compatible oil.  The DEXOS I only have in a synthetic oil.  The current oil change priced for a conventional oil up to 5 quarts is $29.95, while a synthetic up to 5 quarts is $69.95.  In addition, her Silverado requires 6 quarts, which is an additional charge. In regards to labor, I told her the last oil change on her [redacted] we charged her $21.24 in labor to perform the service.  For the Synthetic labor, we charge $34.50.  I explained that the labor charge for oil changes are well under the industry standard time to perform these services, and I give a larger discount for the conventional oil change in order to be competitive in the marketplace.  Lastly, I did say that the prices are not currently spelled out clearly anywhere in my lobby since I am moving to led TV's and our price board does not have it listed.  So, I did offer to give her the difference that she had requested if she desired.  She thanked me for the call and for explaining it to her. Knowing the timing constraints now, I will ensure timely feedback in the future.   [redacted]Midas Modesto[redacted]

She bought tires 3 years ago and we gave her a free alignment. The consumer thinks she should get an alignment for free for ever. We never...

implied that or advertised it that way. When they came in we explained it to her son and he authorized the alignment. It wasn't till her his mom got involved and made big stink about it. I don't care to have [redacted] customers. The best resolution is to let her go somewhere else and be a problem for my competition!Thanks
