Benjamin Poolscapes Reviews (%countItem)

jamin Poolscapes installed our pool. Among many other issues that were not done well and are too numerous to mention, the top twoIssues we have include our pool being out of level by over two (2) inches and we now know he installed the chlorinator backwards even though it has bold arrows showing the direction it should go and he had installation instructions. I also want to say, he has never completed the job! We are still missing the cover.

It was a horrible experience from beginning to end. His work ethic is terrible. Trying to get him to show up at all was like pulling teeth.

I would warn anyone thinking of using this pool company to reconsider. We will be filing complaints with the state licensing agency.

The pool project in question here was completed during the Covid 19 world wide pandemic. Customer was supposed to close on their house on February 4 and did not until later in the month where we went ahead and began excavation and installed said pool. The pool was 1 inch off of level which is well within industry standards and was agreed upon by both parties that the skimmer being lower would be ***eficial even though it was offered to re level pool but concrete was desired to be done ASAP. In order to retrieve final payment at completion. Of project I was made to sign an agreement that I would provide and install a cover at cost which in the beginning of contract negotioans stated I would get them a cover at cost NOT installed. Customer withheld $1500 for said cover and therefore voided any and all warranties offered by my company. The chlorinator will be installed correctly within the next week as they are next in line for warranty work even though warranty is void at this point in time due to it not being properly installed by crew member. It was expected that me and my crew were present at project even when project was up to date and waiting on sub contractual work that had been scheduled. Landscaper was there less than we were and I now understand why. Customer stated the frustrations at the end of the project even though everything that was paid for was completed in a timely manner during a world wide pandemic that caused major delays as laid out in the contract they signed.

Complaint: ***

I am rejecting this response because: The pool is not one inch off level, it is over two inches which is past industry standards and putting a chlorination on backwards has nothing to do with the pandemic. Our landscaper is exceptional and was on site every day, not sure what his work has to do with the performance failures of ***jamin Poolscapes. Our landscaper even allowed *** to use his bobcat at no charge, and they nearly destroyed it! I tracked hours of *** during his three and a half months It took him to do the pool. In April he only worked 7 seven hours during the entire month. *** had unrestricted access through the entire time, yet he rarely showed up. We expected him to do his job professionally and having equipment put on backwards in totally unacceptable. He can blame his “crew of one” however as the owner he is responsible for making sure work is performed correctly.

we held back funds for equipment not provided nor completed which is not a warranty violation. This was mutually agreed upon between both he and us and he signed a statement of such. When *** delivers and installs the cover he will be paid the $1,500 that was held back, which by Texas law we had the right to do.

We are actually still working with that landscaper on other projects and he can attest to the issues we encountered with ***, as my neighbor can do so as well.

Regards

Pool is within indrustry standard of 3 inches. 3.5 months completion time due to the constant change orders and job site micromanagement not to mention verbal abuse of my employees. The list goes on and on. Chlorinator will be fixed early next week and there will be no cover as I offered a cover at cost as a gesture of good faith. $1500 can be used towards finding a cover suitable for customers swimming pool, however warranties are still void through my company as not all funds were received.

Revdex.com:

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID, and find that this resolution is Somewhat satisfactory to me.

I would like you to note that in ***’s first response he said industry standard for level of pool was 1” one inch which is correct but yet in his second response he noted three inches which is not correct. And I would like to see him produce one change order we asked for? He can’t because there were none! We will wait to see if in fact he shows up on Monday to fix the chlorinator, as he isn’t known for keeping his word. But this response will be used for further action should he fail to show up.

Regards
