Bennett's Mobile Home Heating & Cooling Reviews (1)

Bennett's Heating and Cooling installed a new gas furnace in Mr. [redacted] Mobile Home on November 7, 2014.  Later that day Mr. [redacted] called requesting where his old removed flue stack was (he kept his old furnace and flue). He was told by [redacted] it was placed in a box inside the home back...

by hallway and bathroom as he requested. He stated he found it. Mr. [redacted] called in to the office a few days later, stated he was hearing a noise in the furnace wanted it checked.  We sent our service tech and he did not find anything wrong at the time.  This new furnace sounded a little different then his old previous one. At this time we did not find any water leaking at furnace.  We did not hear back from Mr. [redacted].  No messages left on our answering service. Another male person called in to our office on Monday 12/8/2014 and stated the roof was leaking in bathroom above tub. As to Mr. [redacted] stating he was not told of us changing his flue, YES HE WAS TOLD THIS SEVERAL TIMES. Mr [redacted] had been calling our office several times from early Spring thru Fall of 2014 checking about prices of new gas furnaces.  He had been told that the new flue/roof jack came with all new 80% furnaces. Upon October 30, 2014 Mr. [redacted] came in to our office with his daughter [redacted] and made the down payment of his furnace. Again on 10/30/2014 it was stated again that the new flue/roof jack assembly would be installed with his new furnace inside. We do not install a new furnace without installing the matching new roof jack; as is required to be installed for code, warranty and proper furnace operation. At this time no one asked about using wood to get on the roof. We had to get on Mr. [redacted] metal roof to remove the old preexisting roof jack and installed the new 80% gas furnace then installed the new roof jack (flue) on November 7, 2014. 1" putty tape and 2 tubes of HVAC clear silcone nonhardening caulking and sheet metal screws were used to secure the new roof jack.  This is the same way we have done this for over 30 years. Anytime you get on a painted mobile home roof, you run a chance of the paint cracking at the metal roof seams.or around roof vents. This cannot be avoided.. We take extra care in getting on these roofs. Upon inspection on Wednesday December 10, 2014 there was no leaking of water detected around the furnace flue/roof jack. The leaks in the bathroom were coming around the crack in his paint below off to side where we were working and around his sewer vent.  This job took approximately 3 hours to do.  We do not do rush jobs. There were 2 of us to install (an inside guy and an outside guy).  I understand Mr. [redacted] frustrations, but we can not be held responsible for his bad roof (40 years old).
