WORST MOVING EXPIEIENCE EVER!!!!!
Movers we supposed to show up at between 9am and 10:30am, they kept calling saying it will be another 30 minutes. They finally showed up at Noon.
They needed to disconnect the washer and dryer, but they only brought an adjustable wrench, which could latch on to the round hose connector.
I ended up having to carry some of the heavy objects because they kept stopping. They hit every wall in the house. Instead of getting something else to save time, they would walk next to me empty handed while I was taking the items to the truck. Even with the lighter items, they would carry something to the truck then stand around talking to each other. My wife had told them to leave the loose stuff and she would take it in her van. They took it anyways.
Based on my best guess they wasted over an hour just standing around. This would have been fine, but they were charging me by the hour.
Since there was not much in the truck, because I had been moving a lot earlier in the week, I ask them to stop to the storage unit to pick up some more. They only had about half the 26? truck single layer and the unit was on the way to the new house. Maybe a half-mile to the unit and a half-mile to the new house. They wanted to charge me for the stop. I declined.
We got to the new house and they tell me the owner told them they could go back to the unit without a charge because it was on the clock. Again, an attempt to burn more of my time driving back to a location we could have stopped to on the way. I declined.
They started having an attitude. I had my wife call the owner, who was in a no cell area, so his secretary called her back. The owner must have found a way to call them because their attitude got worse. I had to tell them to leave everything in the garage and go. That loose stuff they were supposed to leave alone, spilled in the back of the truck and they wasted more time picking up colored pencils and such.
They charged me for 3 hours. I told them to bill me. They would not leave without a check. They worked maybe an hour and a half.
I called the owner once I was done to rectify this. He said it is his weekend crew. I did not pay for a weekend crew, I paid for professional mover, who are respectful of my belongings and do not start having an attitude because I do not want them wasting my time. He said he was out of cell signal all day, but that I should have let them finish and then called him. How can I call him when he has no service? Why would I let someone with an attitude continue to touch my belongings?
He now dodges my wife's and my calls, and refuses to send another crew to finish the job that has been paid for.
Finish the job Either Finish the job with Professional Movers or Refund the Money.
We tried to make this customer happy multiple times. The agreement was done with his wife not him. He made it a hostile environment to work in. The agreement was voided when the customer demanded other jobs to be performed that wasn't in the agreement. I found out that other companies tried to complete the same task and had similar issues. It seem to me that we weren't going to be able to accommodate this customer no matter what we did.
(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)
This business, at no time attempted to resolve the issues. No additional jobs were demanded, other than the business to send movers to complete the job that was already paid for. No other companies were involved or requested to do the work. The work was completed by myself and a few friends.
