Review: Benny's contracting agreement: 1st proposal signed for paving the entire backyard for the sum of $13,000.00. There was no 2nd contract signed. We only decided to pave half of the backyard and he gave me a price of $9,000.00. Benny insisted that I pay cash, he didn't want a personal or bank check. First payment was $3,000.00 and for the 2nd payment was for the order of the cement truck and the pavers. The 3rd payment would be when he completed the job. On 9/**/14, Benny ordered the dump container and asked me to pay the driver $650.00. On 9/**/14, he started breaking the concrete, framing the paving area. Benny offered me building steps to the deck for $4,500.00 & he agreed to build it for $4,000.00. He proceeded to build the steps and stopped working on the backyard. The steps were poorly constructed. On Friday, 10/*/14, I spoke with Benny about the steps and he said that he would take care of it & he received the 2nd payment in cash in the amount of $3,000.00 for the cement truck & ordering the pavers. He received a total amount of $6,000.00 cash & $650.00 check. On 10/*/14, Benny never showed up and when I called him 3 times, he never answered my phone calls. I have pictures of the damaged steps and his poor work. On 10/*/14, he finally showed up at 5:30pm and told me that "Since I cancelled the cement truck, he sent the truck to another job." He began to collect his equipment, tools, and told me that he would come back when he finishes the other job. I tried to call him again several times, but he never answered my calls. Therefore, I filed with the small claims court to handle my case against Benny's Contracting, Inc., for not completing the job. On 10/**/14, his wife contacted me and offered me $1500.00 in which I refused to that agreement. She then called me again on the same day & offered me $2,500.00 in order to settle the case. Again I refused to accept that offer as well and decided to continue the case with the small claims court. On Dec. **, 2014, I went to small claims court; his lawyer offered me $2,500.00 (before seeing the judge), and I told him that I prefer to have the judge hear my case. Benny's attorney began harassing me & saying that he will sue me for $15,000.00 & asking the court clerk to reschedule another hearing which was dated on 2/**/15. On that day, I noticed that Benny forged the 1st contract & added $4.500.00 on the contract in which I never signed my initials to approve this. I presented the judge with the pictures & with paper having his own handwriting calculating his fee adjustment. I also submitted to the judge an estimate for demolishing & to have someone come do the job from the beginning. I have receipts showing that the entire job had to be re-done and is now paid for in full by another contractor.Desired Settlement: I would like to receive a refund in the amount of $5,000.00.

Review: We hired this comapany in the spring of 2014 to install travering pavers in the back yard around an inground pool and patio area. They got paid $3000 upfront as part of the price for the labor. I supplied the material (the travertine pavers). They damaged a material worth of $2000 because they don't know what they are doing. I have documents and pictures to support my claim. I talked to the [redacted] who promissed to put experienced labor on my job. He never did and came up with execuses that his wife got into the hospital; his workers admitted that he committed to too many jobs at the same time. When I saw I was loosing a tremendeous amount of money and we were just in the beginning of the job, I asked him to stop the work.Desired Settlement: I am asking for a refund of $2000.
