Ben's Barber Shop

Review: After having a few good haircuts here, I brought my 94 year old neighbor [redacted] in for a haircut. The first problem was that the music was blasting so loud that I had to ask [redacted] the barber to lower it. I got an unfriendly look and he lowered it just a little. There was nobody else in the shop except for my neighbor who is very frail, her granddaughter who had come along to help her walk, [redacted] the barber and me. After [redacted] sat in the chair for the haircut [redacted] left the shop and stood in front and lit a cigarette. I went outside to ask him why he was taking a break while he had a customer sitting in the chair, and he told me that that he doesn't want customers like her and if I didn't like it I could take her elsewhere. He said that he was doing me a favor by cutting her hair, all the while with a very nasty look on his face. I asked him for the [redacted]'s phone number and he told me to call the number on the window. I made the call but wound up getting another barber in the shop who had come in named [redacted]. He had the same nasty attitude as [redacted].I would have taken [redacted] elsewhere but that would've been difficult for her. After the trim he charged her $8 and I pointed out to him that the sign in the window said haircuts for senior citizens are $5.95 he told me not for women. [redacted] has a short hair style so this doesn't make any sense to me. Both barbers then told us to go elsewhere if we didn't like it. [redacted] refused to give [redacted] a receipt when she asked for one.I managed to get a hold of the [redacted] who made excuses for the barber's behavior and said that they're young and they didn't do anything wrong. He said that he'd watched the surveillance video.Desired Settlement: I would like both barbers to receive training in customer service. The [redacted] should have to remove the sign that advertises $5.95 haircuts for senior citizens since they don't honor it all of the time. [redacted] was very upset with the way that she was treated by the barbers and I think an apology and a refund are in order.
