The particular service contract Ms [redacted] purchased covered her vehicle from the day it was purchased and would remain in effect until the contract expires or is cancelledThe refund is the same regardless of whether the contract is used or notFor example: If there were a claim administered against the contract if would have no bearing on the refund amount when cancelled Ms [redacted] signed that there were miles on the vehicle when she cancelled the contract(see attached doc) The calculation is always based on either term or miles whichever is highest less a $cancellation fee The service contract was purchased for $75.242% was due in refund ($1279.11) less the $cancellation fee which totals $This was the amount the dealership refunded All service contracts are calculated in this manner I hope this clarifies everything [redacted] Finance Manager

On February 27th, Mr. [redacted] purchased a 2011 Dodge Journey for his girlfriend. He spent several hours at the dealership going...
through the process of selecting a car that fit the payment budget and size requests for their family. After agreeing to the price and payments, Mr. [redacted] signed approximately 12 documents confirming the purchase price and terms of his vehicle. At no time did he voice concerns over the transaction. On Monday February 29th, Mr. [redacted] called and became irate and shouting obscenities stating that he and his girlfriend had split up and he did not want the car he had purchased. Mr. [redacted] has since picked up the car which was serviced and fully detailed per his request and we have had no further conversation or complaints regarding the purchase. It is our position that both parties entered into the transaction in good faith and the car was delivered in the condition and terms that both parties agreed upon.
