Some 20,000kms ago I felt something loose in the left front of my car, so I asked my local dealer to take a look at it while in for service. They said that there was nothing wrong to be found, so I thought everything was good. The next oil change I went in and asked the dealer to look at the same issue once again, as I felt that it may have been getting worse. They looked, but once again couldn't find what the issue was. I had them change a leaky strut to see if that was the problem, but it wasn't. Yesterday morning, what had progressed into a periodic thumping in the wheel well over time, had now become a consistent thumping and needed to be addressed immediately. Being Good Friday, one of my only options was to take my car into Bento's, as everything else was closed for the holiday. I called ahead, and was advised that they were open, but would not be able to order any parts until the following morning. I dropped my car off Friday evening, they called me Saturday morning identifying the problem, and gave me a price that I was more than happy with. They also identified another leaky strut in the back, and gave me a price to replace both back struts (Best practice would be to replace both struts to maintain balance. Something my dealer even failed to suggest). I also asked for a price on a new clutch. They quoted me $600 less than what the dealer had quoted. All in all I am more than satisfied with this experience. I brought my car in to have an issue taken care of, and they did just that for a reasonable price. They went a step further and inspected more than what I had asked them too, finding the leaky rear strut. Sure they want to replace as much as possible, but after going to a dealer who charges hundreds of dollars for a useless multi point inspection, I'm more than happy with that. No more dealership for me, I'll be returning to Bento's.
