I have explained this to [redacted] -- We would ruin the rug if the water ran clear -- To much water can cause permanent damge to the carpet -- We have cleaned it twice and have proper cleaned the rug

Bergmann's Cleaning

Review: Four dress business shirts that I sent out for dry cleaning were lost, and three that do not belong to me were delivered in error. I was told by an associate that a search for my shirts was conducted but my shirts were never located. I made 4 phone calls to the business over 4 weeks, but never was contacted proactively by the business. The owner unilaterally decided to offer me a maximum of $25.00 per shirt, as they were not new. However, it would cost me at least double that amount to replace the shirts. In addition, I was charged for the cleaning f the shirts which were never returned.

The owner decided that I should keep the three shirts that were delivered to me in error after I suggested that I would hold on to them until he granted my request. Of course, this means that that customer will also not be able to get his shirts back, as I do not know who he is.Desired Settlement: I would like an apology for the way this issue was (not) handled, as well as a reasonable replacement amount for items lost, $200.00.

Hello -- [redacted] has three shirt that do not belong to her and she will not return until she gets full replacement on her shirts. Her missing shirts are 3 - 4 years old and $ 25.00 per shirt is a very fair offer. She again refuses to send back the three shirt that do not belong and I have settled on those shirts with the other customer. So she said she will just keep the three shirts until we pay her replacement value.We have asked her to send back these shirts 5-6 times and she refuses and because of that I had to settle with the other customer. I tried to deal with her fairly and explained to her the situation so let her keep the shirts that do not belong to her. Review: I have had an overall extremely poor customer service experience. I have two (2) rugs which still require cleaning. This is what happened:

July 8

I had a scheduled pickup for two (2) rugs and was told that the driver would pickup between 11:00 am - 12 Noon. the rugs were outside but the driver said that he needed the coupon. The driver arrived a few hours late.

July 15

Driver was to deliver rugs in the morning between 11:00 am - 12 Noon. I waited and finally called to advise that I had an appointment and would not be available for a 3:00 pm deliver. The driver called me directly to advise he would deliver the rugs on the next day at 9:00 am.

July 16

Driver delivered the rugs at 9:00 am

I rolled out the smaller rug for placement and discovered it was not clean. Before pickup, we had placed the rugs inside the carport. When I opened the rug wrapping, not only were the fringes not clean but particles of leaves remained on the fringes.

I called to schedule a pick up for the rug to be re-cleaned. I received a pickup for July 22.

July 21

I opened the wrapping from the other rug and discovered it was not clean. I called Bergmann's and left a voicemail that both rugs would be available for pickup and re-cleaning.

July 22

An employee named [redacted] called at 9:29 am to advise that she received the voicemail and asked if I had paid for the rug cleaning. I told her that I had paid and would she please check her system to assure payment had been received. She put me on hold and returned to confirm payment and also to advise that both rugs would be picked up. I asked her to give me a pickup window. She told me she would find out and call me back. She called me back at 9:39 am to advise that the rugs would be picked up between 11:00 am - 12:00 Noon.

July 22 1:00 pm

I started calling Bergmann's repeatedly and got a recording that stated "call cannot be completed; hang up and call later." I continued to call and finally decided to call the [redacted] location. I had rescheduled an earlier appointment for later during the day and had to leave by 2:00 pm.

July 22 1:35 pm

I spoke with [redacted], at the [redacted] location, who told me that I would have to contact the Virginia location regarding my issue. I continued to call the Virginia number and finally retuned a call to [redacted] who gave me the number for the owner.

July 22 1:52 pm

I spoke with [redacted] Bergmann who confirmed the telephone line problem. I informed him I was waiting on my pickup but had to leave for an appointment. I explained to him that the rugs were to be re-cleaned. He informed me that he remembered the rugs and said he helped clean them and that they were very dirty. I informed him that the rugs needed cleaning but were not as he described. We are not that type of family. If, in fact, he felt the rugs could not be cleaned properly, he should have called me to advise and not rolled them up and taken the $164.67 for payment. [redacted] Bergmann told me to leave the rugs outside. I informed him that one rug was rolled up at the door but the other one was rolled up at the bottom of the stairs. I informed him that I was not lifting the rug in the basement. Then [redacted] got on the telephone. [redacted] Bergmann was gone and never advised me that he was dropping my call.

I asked [redacted] to please let me know when the driver would arrive since I had to leave. She put me on hold and when she returned she said he would pick up some time today. I told her that was unacceptable. By this time, it was getting close to the time I had to leave. I left the house at 2:07 pm.

Just before my leaving, the driver called me on my cell phone at 2:01 pm and told me that he would be at my house before 3:00 pm. I told him I had already rescheduled an appointment from that morning and that I had to leave. He called me on my cell again at 2:16 and 2:37 while I was actually at my appointment!! He told me he was outside my house. I told him I was concluding my appointment and would head home.

He called again at 2:54 and I told him I was on my way home. He called again at 2:55 and told me he was leaving and that he would pickup the rugs the next day at 7:30 am. Then he did what he had done during previous calls to me. He hung up in my ear.

In the meanwhile, [redacted] Bergmann called me on my cell at 2:47 pm. He was screaming at me into the phone asking me where I was. That his driver was at my house. I told him I was on my way home and then hung up.

My husband moved the rugs to the outside and placed them inside the carport for pickup on Tuesday, July 23 @ 7:30 am.

July 23

5:00 pm As of this time the rugs are still inside the carport . I have not received a call from Bergmanns or any representative today.Desired Settlement: As a long time customer of Bergmann's, I feel horrible that I received this lack of civility and acceptable customer service from the owner and his employee. I was totally stressed out all day!!

Review: I took my white coat to Bergman's Cleaners, which is housed and I believe partnered with [redacted] in [redacted], Maryland. When I brought my coat in for cleaning it was lightly soiled. When the coat came back the first time it was dingy as though it had been cleaned with other darker clothing. I then met with a [redacted] staff person and asked to send it back to Bergmans to have it properly cleaned again. Giving Bergman's another chance to correct and clean the coat. This time when it came back it was even dirtier then before but also included stains that looked like rust. Additionally, the [redacted] staff person acknowledged that she did not see any stains on the coat when it went over to Bergmans the first time. I then asked to speak with the [redacted] Manager. The [redacted] Manager informed me that he would contact Bergmans and for me to contact them as well. I contacted a staff person at Bergmans who told me they would not pay a claim on the coat. BTW I did not ask for a claim. I only wanted them to see if they could properly clean the coat. The staff person then said you have to speak to Mr. Bergman. Let me start by saying that I have never been so insulted. When Mr. Bergman got on the line, he wouldnt even allow me to speak. He just started out by saying and I quote "I know what you are trying to do." He further explained that my coat was already uncleanable and that he was not going to pay out a claim. Again my coat came in only lightly soiled. This person was so rude that I could not even have a descent conversation with him to resolve this issue. I am now left with a damaged coat and it does not look like there is no way to get any resolution unless I take some legal action against them.This message is a warning to all that they should not deal with this company. They will damage your item, find a way to lie and blame it on you, take no responsibility for their actions or make any attempt to resolve the issue. They are a poor example of a business who is supposed to provide a quality service to the public. They truly lack any ability to exude customer service professionalism. I am totally disgusted.Desired Settlement: Because the coat has been so damaged by staining and possibly being died using old cleaning solutions or darker clothing, the only option I have is a replacement.

[redacted] brought her white coat in it was very soiled with make-up on the collar so we did not clean the garment and sent it right back to [redacted] as we did not think we could clean the coat in such poor condition -- We will not pay any claim as the staining was done by the cunsumer
