Review: On 4/3/13 I went ito above shop to have my amethyst ring inspected and appraised. I then asked to have the ring sized from a 6 to 7. I was told to pick up the ring on Friday, 4/5/13. I did this and checked for correct size, which was acceptable. Upon arrival home I noticed 4 diamonds were missing. Called, spoke to son and was advised to come in next day 4/6/13 it would be taken care of. On next day went into shop, manager/owner stated the stones were out when I bought it in, I reminded him he has inspected ring (new, purchased and received 3/28/13). He then stated that he would give me stones but would not reset into ring unless I would pay $10 per stone, "THATS IT!" If you'd bought ring from me Id fix it free. Told helper to pick out cloudy diamonds, I said to him the rings diamonds were not cloudy, were "VS"quality. Then helper brought stones(3) I left.Desired Settlement: Fifty dollars for replacement of stones by a jeweler. Ring should be returned to me in same condition, I left it in his responsibility.

Business' Initial Response

We spoke with Mrs. [redacted] and offered to give her $50 in store credit toward any repair, whether repairing the ring in question or any other piece she may have. Originally she agreed to come in for the repair to resolve this issue. Later she called and wanted to be reimbursed the $40.00 she claimed to have paid to have the ring that we sized fixed elsewhere, In order to resolve the issue and make her happy, we agreed to reimburse her after she fax or mail us a receipt showing she paid to have 3 diamonds reset into the ring we sized. We attempted to solve this matter with Mrs. [redacted], and originally she agreed to mail in the receipt in order to be reimbursed, but until this date she still has not done so and therefore she has not been reimbursed.

Received a check of $50.00 from the company on Saturday August 24, 2013. Length of time it took to settle with the money owed, took too long.

Business' Final Response

We waited over 1 month for the receipt from customer showing how much she paid, Then had to verify the hand written receipt with management, who was on a long summer vacation. So while we took a few weeks to pay her, as the customer has complained, we paid the her $50.00 in order to make her happy even though she originally requested only in store repair credit, then several weeks later wanted money in the amount of $40. Unfortunately, some people are never happy.
