Review: I am filing a strong complaint against Berkeley Eeteriors Inc. In 10/11 a repair was made to the gutter guard installed in 2006. Unfortunately ,the problem reoccurred. When I called [redacted] said he would send some one out in a few days. That didn't happen. I called again, and he said about the same thing. Still no one came, so I began calling him frequently, and finally said I would call every day. No more mesages were returned. I told him I would call the Revdex.com, but if he wasn't even listening to my messages he wouldn't know that. This all occurred within about a two week period, whic h I thought was sufficient to get some one out here. I even told him my daughter was getting married, and as we were having so many rain storms, it would be great not to worry about that. It seems to me he has no business ethics when it comes to follow up issues that are small, and though theymay be insignificant to him , that is not the case for me.

Desired Settlement: I would like the gutter problem repaired now, and any other time, that or some other warrantee issue occurs that he is required to fix. Maybe being prompt courteous and responding to calls would be to his advantage. I can't help but feel the way this was handled was in poor taste and rude on his part.

This is not a warranty issue for the gutter guards we installed in 2006. They were retrofitted onto her existing gutters when we did her roof job. The gutters worked fine from 2006-2011 (5 years) when she Complained that the corner of the gutter was overflowing and that our gutter guards must be failing. As it turns out, they were fine but the gutter itself had sagged at the corner. This was probably due to enormous amounts of snow on the roofs over the past few year. I did not charge her for a service call and we re-strapped the gutter higher. Since 10/2011 we have had two consecutive winters with 2 feet or more of snow and ice in the gutters which has caused it to sag again and water obviously pouring over the low end of the gutter. Let me reiterate that this is not a warranty issue related to our gutter guards. So to complain that I am not expeditiously servicing a warranty issue is totally a false perception on her part.

Now to address how long it has taken to get there. Unless someone is living in a bubble they "know" that we have had many days of rain in the past 2-3 weeks. We have lost considerable working days as a result. We had existing contract work in the schedule when she called to request the service call. Our situation, because of being behind because of rainy weather is trying to complete those roofing and siding jobs already under contract and in progress for customers who have NO gutters on their homes, some of whom actually had water in their basements as a result. With every available DRY day we try to take care of these folks first. The complainants problem is not this "dire". I assured her that we would be there as soon as possible and practical. This is not something she is willing to accept. She has in fact called everyday to be the "squeaky wheel" in hopes of "threatening me" into taking care of her problem sooner. Unfortunately for her I don't respond we'll to that tactic.

I had intended to provide the service call free of charge as I do for many of my past customers. Given the situation I no longer feel compelled to do that. Mrs. [redacted] has two choices. She can call and apologize for filling this bogus complaint and I will consider putting her back on the list OR she can contact another gutter company and pay them to address the situation.
