While filing my 2013 taxes, [redacted] incorrectly interred my direct deposit information. Seven months later and the issue is still unresolved. In March of 2013, we went to Berkeley Service Company to complete our state and federal taxes. [redacted] entered the incorrect direct deposit information to a bank we don't even belong to for both our state and federal refund. On the federal return, she put our direct deposit account was "checking"; she put the state was "savings." In April, the USIRS sent us our defend by mail. When we didn't get our refund from the NCDoR, I waited for the same response. In June I found out [redacted]'s mistake. The only assistance she gave us to correct her error was when the NCDoR told me that my refund was given to her, my tax preparer. She called the NCDoR to clear her name. I have spent countless hours to track down our refund. When the problem was still not resolved mid-summer, we requested to be refunded the cost of the tax prep since we should not have to pay for the incorrectly prepared taxes. [redacted] said, "I wouldn't disagree with that," and refunded us the $85. My calls to Berkeley Service Company have not been returned, and I have been trying to correct Berkeley Service Company's error for seven months.Desired SettlementI want an explanation, accountability, and an apology for my taxes being incorrectly filled out. I have spent hours correcting [redacted]'s error, and even though time lost is not eligible for financial compensation, I have also used around three-hundred minutes of my cell phone specifically to find and retrieve my refund. I do not have unlimited cell phone minutes, and I deserve to be reimbursed for them. Since it is due to Berkeley Service Company's error that I have yet to receive my tax refund from NC, if the state of North Carolina does not also give me back interest, as I suspect they will not, I expect Berkeley Service Company to pay me my lost back interest on my tax refund.
