Complaint: [redacted]
I am rejecting this response because:What Mr. B[redacted] is offering does not make up for what [redacted] and he agreed upon and was not accomplished .  Bottom line:  A new alternator is a new alternator.  A rebuilt alternator is a rebuilt alternator.  [redacted] had specifically said he wanted a new alternator and all pulleys replaced, and Mr. B[redacted] agreed.  In Mr. B[redacted]'s opinion, a new and a rebuilt alternator are the same.  If that is the case, we need to contact Mr. Webster and get it changed in the dictionary.  The two pulleys replaced do not equal the four that should have been replaced.  The mechanics do a good job but the service is not what was agreed on.  We will go elsewhere for repair and service on our vehicles in the future.   We consider this matter closed.

Complaint: [redacted]
I am rejecting this response because:Regarding Mr. B[redacted]'s response --First of all, when we originally contacted Berkley's Auto, it was for transmission repair work on our truck.  No one ever contacted B[redacted] as a referral for us.  We found him through the phone book and contacted him directly.Secondly, Mr. B[redacted] was addressing [redacted] through most of this ordeal.  The last time we spoke with him in person [redacted] was in attendance but the majority of the conversation was held between Mr. B[redacted] and [redacted].As far as the $50.00 offered, we don't need his money.  In reality, he owes us a new alternator, not remanufactured, and two additional pulleys.  The work order specifies all equipment is new, nothing used or remanufactured, and [redacted] specifically stated he wanted all new parts because he planned on keeping the truck and did not mind putting the money into the vehicle.  The owner of Berkley's stated they used nothing but new parts.  Again, no one recommended us to Mr. B[redacted] so his statement is false in that regard.  Evidently he has us mixed up with someone else who was not very satisfied over his work.  We are Christians, we volunteer our ministry to nursing homes, and we are not the type to be dishonest.  We just think it needs to be posted of what we have experienced.  One point to consider -- why would Mr. B[redacted] offer $50 back to us if he weren't in the wrong?  We can mail you a copy of the work order should you so desire.  On top of that, [redacted] had not signed and was not asked to sign the work order before the work was done, which is a law in Colorado.  We trusted Berkley's to do the work that was agreed on.  So sad -- we thought we had a good, reputable place to take our vehicles but Mr. B[redacted] has lost our business over this ordeal.

In response to the [redacted]s my crew did an excellent job handling my shop while I was away on an emergency trip to help my father and as always we never are underhanded or dishonest with our dealings . Im sorry they aren't satisfied with the work that was done and my offer stands .                                                                                                                 Respectfully                                                                                                      Mark B[redacted]

Hello Revdex.com its been a long time since i've heard from you guys . I will start with after 32 years in business I have never been called dishonest !These folks were sent to me by an old friend that had a shop in Fruita Colorado with a warning that they were hard to deal with and I acceptedthe challenge...

. As Mrs [redacted] stated we had done other work for them and it turned out well . The alternator that was replaced was in fact a remanufactured  and that has been our policy all along with electrical items. But I had to take an emergency trip to Texas to care for my 87 year old father and my crew did an excellent job . However when Glenn listed the alternator on the invoice he didn't know to add R/B to the line and I offered Mrs [redacted] a new alternator at no additional labor all she would have to pay is the difference in the price and tried to explain that the suggested retail price is what we charge. the price they received at [redacted] was for folks who do it yourself in their driveway she wanted no part of that explanation and I told her thats how we pay the rent . Mrs [redacted] is asking for a refund of 116.18 that is the total profit for the alternator . I will offer her 50.00 back at this time . Some folks just dont get how markup works  .                                                                                      Respectfully                                                                                   Mark B[redacted]
