I lived in [redacted] Apartments around 5 years and paid my rent until I left. But when I left this place, Management charged me for wear and tear even for painting. Management supposed to paint whenever new tenant moved into this apartment after a year.
Also I gave the notice to terminate my least Feb/15/2015 and I have paid full rent for Feb. I want to extend my stay. But management told me that they can not extend as new person is moving on end of Feb. I vacated the Apartment in very bad weather and moved into hotel. I got a bill on March to pay march rent also. I asked them how could you get rent from two parties for Month of march for the same place. I did not get any reply or credit for march and they are asked me to pay for full march rent.

Review: In April 2013, I visited [redacted] at [redacted] ([redacted]) in search of a new apartment. On that day, the sales manager told me there was a good chance the two-bedroom apartment was still available and suggested I leave a deposit for $199.00. On Monday, [redacted] deposited my check even though there was no apartment available. They did not follow-up with me, and the only way I found out was when my check cleared my bank and I called to inquire about the apartment.In the end, I chose another apartment complex. On April 23rd, I requested a refund of my $199 deposit from [redacted] and was told I had to wait 30 days for it to process from corporate. On May 28th, I followd up with [redacted] regarding my deposity refund, as I had not received it yet and was informed they had "forgotten" to process it, so now I have to wait another 30 days.Desired Settlement: I would like my deposit refunded to me by the end of June 2013.

She came in and filled out an application. she was put on a wait list for a particular style that she wanted. she canceled the application and filed for a refund. A refund was put in for her on June 28th

I just finished serving my country years and earned my GI billI am using it to attend U Of H in the SpringI lived in Houston at one point in my life when I was younger; but have no real family to depend on here so my first priority upon arrival to Houston from Ft,Bragg NC weeks ago was to find a place to liveI walked into Lakes of [redacted] (A Berkshire Property) the morning of Oct31st and explained to [redacted] my situatuon and asked what all I would need to become a resident because I am a first time renter and had no idea how this was supposed to work[redacted] was very helpful and did the best she could but she (and her supervisor) constantly proved her lack of trainingShe explained to me that she had only started working there a few weeks ago so I was as patient with her as I possibly could be despite the immense amount of time she was spending to do everythingDuring my initial visit my main concern was figuring out every aspect of payment they would need because I had a specific budget I had to use to find somewhere to liveDuring my initial visit, [redacted] handed me a paper with the amount I would be paying for monthly rent and charges I would have to pay to apply for the apartments on itI asked her MULTIPLE times if those were the only charges I would have to pay at this timeShe told me those were the only charges I had to worry about, MULTIPLE timesIf she truly thought this and/or was just ignorant to the procedures this wouldn’t have been a very big dealOr if she had explained to me I was going to be paying my $rent BEFORE I even moved in the property, I wouldn’t have returned because I knew I only had a little more then that to work withThis too would have been easily forgivenI took the information and continued apartment hunting the rest of that fridayI returned to Lakes of later that day after deciding it was the best fit for me and started the process to figure out how soon I could move it[redacted] did her best to move the process along but her lack of knowledge and incapacity to ask for help or details she didn’t yet know by heart slowed the process down immenslyShe did her best and by the time everything was said and done that day she told me I just needed the money orders for my fees, Renters Insurance, and the Electtiricty turned on then I could be moved in by MondayI didn’t really want to spend the entire weekend sleeping on the floor at my cousins apartment but I really liked the property so I endured through the weekendDuring this entire process I was constantly stressing the fact that I was Currently homeless to [redacted], [redacted], and [redacted]But I suppose it was too hard for them to grasp the concept of a Year old young man moving state to state or city to city completely alone and surviving by my own meansNo parents to help me along, nobody to depend on or “help me” along, making decisions purely based on information from strangersEvery time I brought up the fact that while I am not quite living on the streets I am essentially “homeless” they seemed to take it as a joke or “no big deal.” This became clear to me when I showed up the next Monday to finish my process and get moved inI showed up monday afternoon with two money orders ($150) ($50), and my entire life in my car thinking It was going to be a simple signing and money changing hands and I would be able to move inThis was not the caseUpon arrival monday I went back to [redacted]s desk because she helped me Friday, despite the fact that I could tell she was poorly trained or just not very good at her job yetWe got about mins into the process before she had to ask her Supervisor ([redacted]) how to do somethingThe first day I showed up I saw [redacted] in his office on the computer but he didn’t leave his office once, or even aknowledge me and my cousin the 2-hrs we were thereToday he was kinda hovering around I suppose to hurry the process along[redacted] struggled through the paperwork and procedures as I sat in silent agony wishing this process could be over already so I could just move inShe asked [redacted] another question and I guess he finally realized she wasn’t prepared at all to do this completely alone yet so he pulled up a chair behind her desk and sat right next to her breathing over her shoulderThey started to move through all the paperwork fairly quickly I signed a couple papers and after about an hour they finally dropped the bomb on me[redacted] proceeds to tell me, They decided to wait until the last minute to do my background check even though I informed them FRIDAY I was from out of state, and time was of the essenceWhen my background was checked I had a speeding ticket from NC that couldn’t be accessed from Texas and Im assuming they had no way of looking at it[redacted] explained to me the problem with this and that he didn’t know how to look it upWhich is totally understandableI never even questioned why you would wait days to do something FREE that you could have done as soon as you knew my name? I told [redacted] I had a copy of my ticket and criminal history in my car and told him I was going to get it because as I explained NUMEROUS times before, I am homeless and time is of the essenceI went to my car to get the documentation after about mins [redacted] comes outside to inform me“There is nothing they can do and I have to wait 1-days” …This is where my frustration reached its boiling point, days I have already wasted on this apartment complex and your telling me I have to wait up to more days to move in now because YOU didn’t think to do a background check earlier? This too was forgivenFor if I wouldn’t have been speeding in the first place I wouldn’t be in this predicamentKarma or bad luck is completely understandable and I have the most patience in the world because I am a firm believer in people and their ability to grow and learn from things as suchSo I once again help my tongue and just accepted the factsI already gave my initial fees to the Apartments so I asked ONE MORE TIME if there was ANYTHING else I needed to pay? I was informed by [redacted] & [redacted] before I left“All I needed was my renters insurance and to turn my electricity on, and as soon as they got the background check back in 1-I would just show up hand them the money and proof of insurance, and I could move in.” So as Soon as I left I completed those interactions and began patiently waiting for the call telling me I could move into my first apartmentDay 1? No CallDay 2? No CallDay 3? A full WEEK after I show up to Lakes of telling them I needed a place to stay ASAP? Still no callSO I go up there[redacted] is the only one at work around 10:am but days are up so I needed answers[redacted] couldn’t figure out how to access the background check information of course so she had to start calling [redacted] and [redacted] to figure out what the problem wasThe cyber fairy happened to be working that day and somehow the results to my background check magically became available, right before her very eyesSurprise surprise, I was approvedNow the only thing I BELIEVED I had to do was sign some papersdays, moneys orders, calls later, I am finally finished with this process so I can finally exhaleThen [redacted] informs me“Now we’re just gonna need $for your first months rent and you can have your key’… I don’t have $right nowI don’t have $right nowI don’t have $right nowI kinda laughed it off because at that point I was so angry I couldn’t possibly come up with the appropriate words to let her know how much of a problem that wasSo I left and told her I would be backI rode to my second choice of apartments to see if they would let me move in still? They graciously accepted my requestUpon returning about hours later [redacted] was there so I explained to both of them calmly that I wouldn’t be able to pay rent up front and if they would have explained that to me I Wouldn’t have wasted time hereI told them I just needed my money back SOON because I was on a budget[redacted] then tried to tell me I should have known because thats how it works “every” apartment complexYes he is young I understand he might not realize they are BILLIONS of properties in the world and they aren’t all ran the exact same way as [redacted], so I brushed off this ignorant commentAs I continued to apologize n explain how I needed the money back he went on to tell me “The renters insurance shouldn’t be that big of a deal because it is JUST $right?”… this also irritated me but I held my tongueThe final word from [redacted] and [redacted] that day was that two thursdays after that my check would be mailed and I would receive it around Monday Nov25thThey asked me what address I wanted the check sent to? I told them I wasn’t sure because I didn’t exactly know where I was gonna be, and asked if I would receive a call first? They told me it was fineI apologized some more got the necessary documents I needed copies of and leftTwo days ago I called Berkshire property advisor to make sure my check wasn’t being sent somewhere in Houston because I had to come back to Dallas for two weeks for my mothers Heart operationI reached the human resources department and told the lady a condensed version of the story I just explained in this emailShe told me she wasn’t sure she could handle the situation but her District Manager would call me backUnfortunately, I was running around and didn’t think to save and names or number of who I spoke to that day because I was expecting a call back that never cameI understand if you are a large company and almost-customer satisfaction isn’t a priority but I think I at least deserved a call back from herBut instead I get a call from [redacted], who was been frustrating me from the startExplaining to me that of all the former addresses I put in my paperwork, after all the times I explained to them I am homeless, That vI need that money back, after already waisting weeks of my time when I should have been picking out furniture I was sleeping on a hard [redacted] floor… That my check was sent to NORTH CAROLINA??? AND I would have to wait more days to get it????? And THIS is where I lost itI told her don’t contact me anymore, or anyone that works with her there directlyI explained that I gave her and HER TEAM numerous chances, as you can see from this email, to get it togetherDo the right thing, do THEIR JOBSBut they failed, miserablyI informed her I wasnt waiting days and that she needed to call whoever was their NEXT level supervisor because this has effected me way beyond just the $in fees, then hung upmins - Hour later [redacted] calls me and proceeds to give me excuses as to why they thought it was a good idea to send a check to NC for somebody they saw IN PERSON in HOUSTON,TX not even a week ago without asking them where they were firstIm not exactly sure what all he was trying to explain because at that point I wasn’t listeningBut I gave him the right address and told him as well not to contact me anymore because his team couldn’t handle their job so I will be contacting next level supervisor until I figure out who DOES know how to do their JobI have copies of my Bank statements I will be bringing to the Dallas office and I will highlight all my grievance fees I will need paid for by Berkshire or whoever is going to take responsibility for this misfortunate experience I just went thruI do not feel anything that has transpired has been malicious or they were attempting to string me along due to ill willBut unfortunately I can feed myself or pay any of my bills with understanding so I need my money back in the next days or I will have to inform my family lawyer we’re going to have to get the money through the court systemsI can be reached at any time by phone

[redacted] BUILDING IS UNDER POOR MANAGEMENT CARPETS ARE DISGUSTING , ELEVATORS CONSTANTLY OUT OF ORDER, ELECTRICAL PROBLEMS OCCUR WHERE GATES WILL HIT YOUR VEHICLE(WHICH YOU ARE RESPONSIBLE TO PAY FOR YOUR DAMAGES! --- THEY ARE NOT RESPONSIBLE --- FOR ANYTHING!!! ) I HAVE ONLY RESIDED HERE FOR 4 MONTHS WITH MY RENT PAID (IN ADVANCE) NEVER LATE VERY EXPENSIVE RENT BY THE WAY FOR THE LACK OF MAINTENANCE HERE. I WOULD STRONGLY ADVISE FUTURE TENANTS LOOKING TO MOVE HERE TO THINK TWICE.

Review: - Lakes of Jacaranda is refusing to give me my necessary permits to park my vehicle in my development.

- My lease is a 1 year lease from August 2012 to August 2013

- They are saying that the apartment owner does not pay his maintenance on time.

- I am a renter under the owner and have been making all my payments on time and have not missed one.

- when I tell them I need my parking permits they tell me "no they wont give it to me, if not then the owner wont pay them"

- they are trying to put a squeeze on me so they can get to the owner

- this has been an ongoing dilemma with them since November and they do it to multiple renters, they are very rude to the people in the development.

- they also do not have any signs posted stating that visitors passes are required to park in visitor spots and have had cars towed from the development without people being able to even know.

- I as a resident have been towed 2 times from the development and had to pay it twice as a result am out $300 (which I would like to be reimbursed for)Desired Settlement: I would like to be refunded for the 2 times that the complex lakes of jacaranda has had my vehicle towed. and for them to give me my parking permits so I can park at my house were I live
