I am very surprised to see many positive reviewsMy family and I had a bad experience with Bernard / Doma Movers In short - they promise you things, and make you pay $extra for additional insurance, but they send inexperienced people without a crew leader (or any supervisor) and subsequently our walls & floors are scratched, many pieces of furniture are badly broken and they don't return our phone calls The first issue was that my wife had discussed with the owner, Greg, that the size of the truck was supposed to be very largeBut on moving day, the truck they had was much smaller than promised so they didn't fit everything in, and had to make tripsThey made us pay for the extra trip that wouldn't have happened if we got the right truck we were in agreement about A good thing about the movers were that they were hardworkingBut that's itThe next day at our new home, my wife noticed that several of our furniture was banged upThere were also scratches on the walls and doorsThey were moving my large desk into our office, and it wouldn't fitInstead of taking the door out of its hinges, like we suggested, they proceeded to try to shove it through which of course made some marksLater, we realized that the leather seat of one of our dining room table's chairs was basically ruinedWe think that the chairs were all so pushed up against the table because they didn't want us to see the damage right awayThe leather was scratched up and it looked very badMy wife called Greg, and he said that he would get a leather specialist to come over right awayIt's now weeks later and still no sign of any repair guyWe tried to call again and left a message but no answer We are very upset especially since we bought the insurance and that insurance should have been in our favorNow it just seems like a waste of $Overall, we had a very bad experience with Bernard Movers and we feel like our money we paid them went down the drain

We were under the impression we had already addressed the customers issuesWe have since been in touch with the customer and believe everything was handled to his satisfaction

We were moving our belongings Tuesday 1/31/We used Bernard Movers because last time - March - they did a good jobThey came on timeThey prepared well all items for transportation - covered and wrappedThe crew was friendly and professionalWe are happy againThank you

In short - they promise you things, and make you pay $50 extra for additional insurance, but they send inexperienced people without a crew leader (or any supervisor) and subsequently our walls & floors are scratched, many pieces of furniture are badly broken and they don't return our phone calls.

The first issue was that my wife had discussed with the owner, Greg, that the size of the truck was supposed to be very large. But on moving day, the truck they had was much smaller than promised so they didn't fit everything in, and had to make 2 trips. They made us pay for the extra trip that wouldn't have happened if we got the right truck we were in agreement about.

A good thing about the movers were that they were hardworking. But that's it. The next day at our new home, my wife noticed that several of our furniture was banged up. There were also scratches on the walls and doors. They were moving my large desk into our office, and it wouldn't fit. Instead of taking the door out of its hinges, like we suggested, they proceeded to try to shove it through which of course made some marks. Later, we realized that the leather seat of one of our dining room table's chairs was basically ruined. We think that the chairs were all so pushed up against the table because they didn't want us to see the damage right away. The leather was scratched up and it looked very bad. My wife called Greg, and he said that he would get a leather specialist to come over right away. It's now 3 weeks later and still no sign of any repair guy. We tried to call again and left a message but no answer.

We are very upset especially since we bought the insurance and that insurance should have been in our favor. Now it just seems like a waste of $50. Overall, we had a very bad experience with Bernard Movers and we feel like our money we paid them went down the drain.

Subject: Bernard Movers, complaint #[redacted]   Hello [redacted],   We moved Mr. Witold [redacted] on Saturday, November 8, 2016. On Tuesday, November 11, 2016 at about 4.00 pm, we received a phone call from Mr. [redacted] telling us that he’s missing 3 black garbage bags with personal items.   We immediately checked the truck which was used on his move and found the 3 garbage bags inside a wardrobe box. We informed the client of our discovery and delivered his belongings the same evening. We were not aware of any theft accusation on his part. That was clearly a human error and as soon as we received the complaint, we took action and the client was satisfied.   We reached out to Mr. [redacted] several times the past few days to ask about the filing of this complaint and he denied that he wrote it.   Thank you in advance.
