Berner's Air Conditioning & Heating Inc

We had purchased a complete new A/C System from Berner so naturally thought of them to service it and provide a "System Assured" maintenance contract. The technician arrived and first off asked to use the rest room. Then he asked if we had any Vinegar for the condensate drain. We provided the vinegar. Then he went to the backyard to inspect the compressor. When he returned his shoes were loaded with mud that he tracked throughout the house. I mentioned this to him and he said he would clean the carpet. I refused his offer. At that point I just wanted to pay the bill and be done with it. He gave me a total and I asked about the senior citizen discount or the Angie's List discount. He applied both of them to the bill and charged my card. He left, then he rang the door bell again and informed me he could not deduct two discounts and wanted to charge another twenty dollars. I said lets forget about the maintenance contract just charge me for the service call and that will be it. For some reason he could not do this. So I ended up paying $159.00 for a service call that is normally priced at 79 to 99 dollars.

This firm did a good job at a fair price installing a new unit but this service call was a nightmare. In my opinion customer service is of little value to them.
