My name is [redacted] , I am the manager at Bernies Car Care, LLC at [redacted] ***On December 2, a Customer, [redacted] ***, came into the shop at apprx 3:pmhe handed me paper work from [redacted] that I was unable to print out from an email he sent mewhen he handed me the paper work I said to him, "***, if you want me to work with you, the rudeness needs to stop." ( this was in response to other rude phone calls we had had) He replied that he wanted to call his attorneyI responded that I though he shouldthe customer became agitated and started yelling and swearingi had another customer in the lobby that was concerned with how upset and vulgar [redacted] was and felt she should call On the way out of the door [redacted] stated " do you know what I do for work, I do search engine optimization, wait until you see what I do to you onlineI will destroy you." I responded that the other customer present was my witness [redacted] so I would be careful what you threatenHe left

he handed me the paper work I said to him, "[redacted], if you want me to work with you, the rudeness needs to stop." I responded that I though he should. the customer became agitated and started yelling and swearing. I had another customer in the lobby that was concerned with how upset and vulgar [redacted] was and felt she should call 911.  This has by far been the worst experience I have ever had with a mechanic.  My experience  needs to be officially documented and I plan to do so.  Since I posted a review online other people have reached out to me in regards to how they have also experienced similar things with Bernies on Riverside in Portland. I have all the documentation which I am organizing with legal representation. There is something not right.  I was so incredibly patient with them giving them room to get the job done and stand behind their work.  I should not be here now spending my time doing this with a broken Truck in my Driveway months later. Bear in mind my truck is used as a commercial vehicle and I depend on it for work. Mid September 2015 - I brought my vehicle into Bernies to have my 4x4 checked and to see if it was something they could work on.  I was ensured it was an easy fi4x and they could get the parts.  Some time went by I followed up and eventually the part came in.  I( brought my truck in to have it installed at which point they put the truck in the air installed the part and while the wheels were spinning on the lift hit the 4x4 button...  This is obviously a bad thing to do... Immediately I heard a loud noise.  My heart sank knowing the part was destroyed and not knowing how this was going to be handled.  I won;t get into specifics about the conversation...  But the more I talked to them the sketchier my experience became. They ended up blaming the installation failure on the part and to my knowledge returned it to the dealer.  I was once again ensured they would fix it and that it would not cost me anything additional. As time marched on I became more and more skeptical. Weeks went buy and I would occasionally call inquiring about the part.  Every time [redacted] wouldn't even remember who I was our why I was calling...  I would have to reiterate the story of my truck to jog her memory. I understand mechanics are busy but at a certain point it was pretty ridiculous.  I never received any calls from her to update me and I always had to call in. Eventually [redacted] confirmed with me the part would be in and that I should leave my truck with her during one of my business trips.  She conveyed to me that my truck would be done when I returned and the part was being delivered while I was gone.  Well...  I returned from my business trip excited to get my truck and be done with Bernies... However my truck wasn't done and it had been vandalized while at their garage.  It just keeps getting worse and worse. Just over a week and finally they get the part...  I bring my truck in and finally I get it back.  At this point I had already had to make arrangements to use another truck to run my business.  I parked my truck in the drive way and then the first time I drove noticed there was gear oil leaking out all over my driveway!!! Sooo... Back to Bernies I go again concerned the 4x4 unit they installed was leaking oil.  Bernies tells me my 4x4 is working and that it's my differential pinion seal. They then charge me to fix the leak and repair my strut / bushing. Well... I go to use my 4x4 and intermittently it slams and tightens while driving and there's still machine oil leaking out all over my driveway. I immediately call Bernies again...  [redacted] tells me to come back in...  I express to her I am deeply concerned by the service I received and I need to have someone else look at the Truck at this point. I took my truck to [redacted] to have professionals look over my Truck and what I found was mind boggling...   "137911 C/S Check Transfer Case and 4wd, Found Transfer Case not fully engaging and can hear possible teeth grinding, C/S Had replaced with junkyard unit @ Bernies Auto. Suspect Chain Damage or Forks not Fully Installed.  Would need complete tear down and oarts ordered or replacement unity.  Also noting front axle seals both leaking and drain and fill plugs damaged from previous removal.  Noting front lower shock bushings worn...." Turn out that Bernies solution to fixing my bushing's was to tighten nuts as much as possible so the shocks are basically fused into frame... You'd have to see it to believe it. Out of all the time and patience I exhibited it just got worse and worse.  Out of everything Bernies charged me for the only thing they did right was to clean my headlights. I sent all the information to [redacted] in an email as shown here - with the attachments included with this message.  Sent on - 11/24/2015 "Hello! In regards to our conversation – Here’s the video. [redacted] I would really like to get this sorted out.  I do not feel comfortable bringing my truck to your shop to get worked on at this point.  It just keeps coming back with more problems each time.  This has been going on for four months and it’s time for it to stop you’ve had plenty of opportunity to diagnose and solve the problem. I appreciate your service and hope we can end this on an amicable note.  I would prefer this not to get messy.  At this point I am pretty upset." Thank you for your attention in this matter. Best, [redacted]"At this point who wouldn't be upset?  Almost another week goes by with no reply...  Nothing... No call no email nothing yet again.  So I call, introduce myself and ask if she has received my email.  Of course she doesn't even remember me again. So I tell the story again it comes back to her and she tells me she can't open the email.  I am very frustrated at this point tell her I'll bring in the paperwork myself and hang up.  I wait two days because I am so upset - I was unable to use my work truck for two major events at this point and it's still broken after spending $800...I go in with the paperwork hoping to get reimbursed.  Immediately [redacted] looks at me point her finger and says "Now you listen to me bub" from there she went on about how she was able to open the email and how horrible her life was and treated me like I was the problem...  I lost it told her I was going to take her to court and I would not stand for this one more second.No one should ever have to go through such horrible service - Both on there technical side and there service.  At this point my truck is nearly destroyed and going to cost me alot of money to fix.  The majority of which are now problems they created by taking shortcuts and not doing their work properly.This is unacceptable by any stretch of the imagination.
