refused a refund for a meal that was sent back because a portion wasn't edible. Then was charged 90.31 for someone else's bill without notification.Went to Bernie's dining depot for a 6 pm reservation on Thursday February 27th 2014. My family and myself sat down at table 21 in the train car and ordered our food...my boyfriend getting a fishermans platter consisting of fried clams, shrimp, scallops, scrod and French fries. I, myself had fried scallops clams and French fries. Right from being served my boyfriend and myself noticed the clams had an off taste to them and felt ill after ingesting. Upon informing the waitress Cindy c. that a portion of our meal was unedible she went and got the owner who I believe her name is mrs [redacted]. When the owner arrived at our table and we informed her that we wouldn't be eating our meal she insisted there was nothing wrong with the meal and if we would like the uneaten portion of our meal taken home which we both refused, so she took our meals and walked away. When my bill showed up both of the meals that were sent back were still on the bill so I informed the waitress and she told me to go to the front counter to ask the owner. I made my way to the front counter and asked the owner to just take my boyfriends fisherman platter off the bill because he took one single bite and she refused. It was a $20.95 meal that I shouldn't have had to pay for because a part wasn't good to eat. She only offered to take the clams off and still tried to give us the old food that had been sitting in the back for at least 15/20 minutes! She refused to admit there was anything wrong with the food. After arguing with her for a couple minutes I ended up paying the bill with only the clams taken off. So I paid 66.82 in total for 4 meals, 4 drinks and an appetizer. When the owner took my card to pay she went to the back which seemed odd because there was a card reader right there at the front counter. Well I had a odd feeling so when I returned home I looked at my online bank statement and was charged an extra 90.31 for someone else's bill and wasn't notified by the restaurant!!! So I called Bernie's and talked to this rude owner once again and the response I received was " everyone human, mistakes happen, it'll be put back on your card in a couple days." I have never been treated this was as a customer in my life. To be refused a comp on a bill for one item when both my food and my boyfriends food should of been taken off because it was unedible. Then to be wrongly charged almost 100 dollars for someone else's bill without being told is totally wrong.Desired SettlementI would like the 66.82 that my meal cost to be refunded. I shouldn't of had to pay for a meal that I couldn't even eat. And to go through the headache of being charged an extra 90.31 without being told of the mistake is inexcusable.
