Review: I'm complaining about tax preparer [redacted] Bess. Mr. Bess was paid a total of $350.00($175.00 each by me and my parents) to prepare our state and federal taxes, again for me and my parents. Via e-mail our tax information was sent over to Bess on 03/06/14 for me and 03/10/14 for my parents. Called and spoke to him to confirm all information was received and it was. Went to Bess office down in [redacted], MD on April 2, 2014 to pay him and to pick up copies of our 2013 tax forms. After we left we noticed that he had not provided my mother with a copy of her state taxes. When I phoned Bess he stated that he would send her copy via e-mail and that we should be receiving our taxes electronically soon. On the 14th of April, I received my FEDERAL taxes into my acct and 4 business days after so did my parents. After about 2 weeks had gone past, I contacted Bess to remind him to send my parents state copies to her, which he said he would. Perhaps 3 weeks has gone by now and still there were no copies of her state taxes in my e-mails. I begin to call him and he stopped answering my calls. I sent him e-mails, saying hey don't forget we need her copy. This has now gone on for over a month. So I noticed now that we are into the last weeks of April and I have not received my state taxes, I contacted the Comptroller office and they stated they had no record of it ever being submitted, contacted him after trying about several weeks, he did pick up this one time to say my computer is broke, it should be up by the end of the week. So here it is now the end of May and still there is NO ANSWER from Bess, no return phone calls nor are there any return e-mails. My parents NEVER received their copies of there state taxes as well as he never submitted our state taxes. I finally got the state of MD to correct and submit mine, which I have received and my parents are getting theirs done by Office of Tax and Revenue in DC. And to this day he has YET to return our calls, e-mail or text, he is a CROOK!Desired Settlement: I would like to have 1/2 of my $175.00 refunded back to me, since he only completed 1/2 of the job. And the other 1/2 was completed by someone else when he was PAID IN FULL to do a job.
