On Thursday October 17th, 2013 at approx. 5:00PM I went to Best American Tire and Wheel at 6303 Watt Ave in North Highlands, CA XXXXX, because I noticed fluid leaking from the bottom of my 2008 Chevy Impala LS. An a employee put my car onto a lift and inspected it and advised me that it was my water pump leaking and that it needed to be replaced along with my thermostat and refrigerant and gave me a sub total of 378.00 + 18.64 in sales tax for a total of 396.64. I asked if we could negotiate on the price and the manager [redacted] said that if I pay in cash he can take off the sales tax. After the repair my car was still leaking fluid so I stopped at the next shop I saw on my way home and they told me that my water pump (that the other shop took out of my car and gave to me was fine and not leaking) and that in fact the oil gaskets on the pasenger side of my vehicle were leaking and need to be replaced. I went back to Best American Tire and Wheel to request a refund as my water pump was not leaking and the manager then began to swear at me in front of other customers and asked me to leave. I would like to request a refund as my water pump never even needed to be replaced in the first place and so that I can pay for the actual repair that needs to be done. I am on Social Security benefits and cannot afford to do additional repairs. Please let me know as soon as possible on this matter.Desired Settlement: I would like a refund as I paid for a repair that was not necessary.

customer came on 10/18/13. 07 chvy impala .we pressure text it .It was leaking from the side of water pump form the water pump gas kit and head gas kit . so we found 2 leaks . showed the customer. and we told the customer we cannot fix the head gas kit but we can water pump . He allow us to fix the water pump only and the total was $278 not $378. so we order the new water pump was $100,thermostat was$18 and coolant was$15 and labour replacing water pump and thermostat $ 145 .After replaced the water pump . we re pressure test it. now there is no more water pump leak but the headleak still there as it said on the receipt .Told the customer and every thing written on the receipt too. later that day he came and said the dealer ship test the water pump and they said the water pump is good. we tell the customer .We don, t know how some one check water pump is good without have on the car . we try to explain the customer may be the water pump is good but for us there is no way to check .but it was leaking from the gas kit and we can,t install the same water pump back because have no machine to just check ur water pump I don't know how the other shop did it without having on the car, If the new water pump leaks than we r responsible .and u have 3 months warranty on it .

None of this is true starting with the fact that my car is a 2008 not a 2007. Maybe they are talking about someone else's car... I can barely even understand the response from the company either.

it is further intimated that-

1. when the said customer came, he brought an estimate dated 10/18/13 from [redacted] Auto repair, [redacted] Ave, [redacted] CA XXXXX & for $282.79 (copy attached) showing that the water pump & thermostat are bad, needs replacement.

2. we inspected the car and found that leakage is from 2 places that is

a) water pump

b)head gaskit

We showed the leakage to the customer and prepared estimate/invoice 10/18/13 which was signed by customer to authorized the work.

3. As per approved work order we changed the water pump, thermostat and charged him $$278. and also advised him for head gas kit repair from any other shop as we do not do the had gas kit work.

4. The claim of the customer after the completion of the work not justified.

5.His car was 2008 chev. impala, the error on invoice is regretted.

Review: I purchased a set of 4 dunlop tires from this store it seemed like a good deal at the time until a few months later when my fellow Co worker noticed the weird wearing on one of my tires. when I took it back to the store to get a replacement for a clear warranty defect the manager stated it's from my shocks. .I mentioned the shocks were changed before I even had purchased the new tires. none of the other tires show the same wear. the area that is too shallow is the water groove channels on the tire. they are a 1/4 inch lower than the center and outer channels. yet there's no clear wear on the inner outer toe of the tire to show wearing from my shocks. the point is they were making excuses to not replace a clear defect in a product they sell. and loose a customer / customers. don't sell the product if you won't stand by it. I let the manager know that I will be contacting the Revdex.com. He scoffed. At the statement. The same issue I had happend to another customer who posted a review on [redacted] and [redacted] the manager didn't try to even give me options.Desired Settlement: I would like my tire replaced or all tires if this is a clear recall or defect. Or my money back so I can go buy tires from another business.
