Review: Called service for microwave and oven. They explained 45 dollars per appliance for service call. I advised that I knew what was wrong with microwave, that it needed new magnetron. Was told that they had to inspect and diagnose. Was told that service fee would be waived if repairs were contracted.

Repairman arrived and did not spend much time at oven. He said it was possible that the lower convection not working due to loose wires. Tightened wires and lower oven got marginally hot. Demanded a $145 for ten minutes of labor. I asked why he was seeking service charge despite promise. He claimed he had to raise the rate by $45 because he was working on an electrical appliance. This made no sense to me as all modern appliances require electricity.

Repairman did not touch microwave. Told me without looking at it that it needed a new magnetron. He quoted me a price on the part that was nearly a 100% markup on what I had found myself. He then said it would be two hundred dollars to install the part. He claimed that this was a good investment because my twenty year old microwave was worth a thousand dollars. When I expressed skepticism, he grew impatient and left.

Meanwhile, he did not stick around long enough to see if the oven he charged me $145 to fix was in fact working. I never agreed to this repair. The oven got only lukewarm but is useless. When I called him up to complain he told he would come and take another look for another $45 service charge.Desired Settlement: This was a bogus service call. I was charged $145 for repairs I did not authorize and that were not successful. He charged me for a service call on the microwave when he did not touch it.

I would like my $190.00 refunded.

Review: I am a senior citizen who was cheated by Best Appliance Repair, also called [redacted] and located in [redacted] and [redacted]. Their [redacted] is [redacted], aka [redacted] and [redacted]. The repair technician is [redacted]. Their numbers ###-###-####, ###-###-####, ###-###-####, ###-###-####. [redacted] came to take a look at the problem of too much moisture in my refrigerator on 6/*/14. He said the gasket has to be changed and the closer (hinge) on the door was not working as well as it should, and these will solve my moisture problem. The price was about $300. I asked if it was worth it to repair a fridge that was 14 years old. He said absolutely yes because the fridge will go for another 10 years and that fridges today are not made like before so he insisted strongly that Im better off putting in the money for repair. I said yes. They made 3 appointments with me and never showed up. Finally my daughter yelled at them and [redacted] showed up on 6/**/14. He stretched the gasket which was too small to make it fit and it ripped. He ignored me when I told him that there is an actual rip/breakage and refused to fix it. After 2 weeks, the gasket and the closer did not improve the moisture problem, which was was dripping down the shelves and the freezer walls. I called and he took another 4-5 days to come back to my house and he was rude. Suddenly he told me to unplug the fridge for 36 hours to fix it. I told him that if he had just said that in the first place, I wouldnt have put the money for repair because that indicated a mechanical problem and the fridge was already 14 years old as I had told him. From 6/**/14 to 10/**/14, we called Best Appliance 15 times and wrote letters. No response. They gave me a wrong evaluation and took my money and dont respond. The [redacted] is difficult to reach and rude. My fridge problems continue as is since I reported it to them on 6/*/14.Desired Settlement: I want him to refund my money in full, which is $294.29. They are not qualified to do the work. My situation is the same as it was on 6/*/14 when they first came to give the evaluation. The only difference is that they cheated me out of $294.29 and they have given me a lot of stress since then. Please investigate them because I am sure I am not the first person they ever cheated.
