I rejected the response from the business because I know that beyond “any doubt” that this business  made a mistake and striped the threads of the engine case where the oil drain plug goes.  This kind of business always lays focus on facts that can not be provided. That way it gives them what they think is a edge to skirt the truth. The bottom line is they were, 1. The first person to change the oil on this brand new ATV. 2. The oil drain plug was not touched by anyone until it was discovered by me. So this only leaves one conclusion. That they were the only ones who could have made the mistake.

Now did I record a video like they wanted. No I did not, because by the time I had figured out what happen I had cleaned it up. Remember this was a brand new $7000.00 ATV. This was the last thing I expected to see when I pulled out the drain plug. The business also stated that the threads of the drain plug would have stripped along with the threads of the engine case. Well that is not true at all. Any one with even the slightest knowledge of Metallurgy would know that the tinsel strength of aluminum (Case of the engine), vs. the Steel (Drain Plug) is far different. The Aluminum is a lot lower then the Steel. So the Aluminum will strip when over torqued far before the steel. Leaving the steel thread virtually untouched and the aluminum threads stripped or failed.

This business should accept the fact that is there mistake. And they should like the fact that it only cost $115 do fix. It would have cost about $3000 if it was taken to the dealer where it was bought.

I have to live with the fact that the bike will never be right ever again even though it function's.

Thank you for your time

Sincerely,

Costumer came in with an invoice dated 2012, not 2013 saying that we had done an oil change and stripped plug. He was then asked to show us proof that we had done the damage he claimed, he showed us an UNDAMGED drain plug, could not show any metal shavings from block, which would happen with a stripped plug,no pictures no reciept from another repair shop saying anything about a stripped plug. His response was that he was changing own oil when this happened, after vehicle was sitting for a year it was time, and was not able to get this stuff, or did not have anymore. We then let him know that without some kind of proof that we did the actuall damage we felt we could not help him. After a year and NO PROOF we said we did not believe we did anything wrong, He could bring us PROOF that we did damage we would gladly refund his money.

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and find that this resolution would be satisfactory to me.  I will wait until for the business to perform this action and, if it does, will consider this complaint resolved.

Regards,

He is saying then that after sitting for a year, and you decide to look at it and its broke, it is the other persons fault. Without some kind of proof, pics, a dirty drain plug with oil residue, something, he cannot proove we did anything. In good faith we will refund him 1/2 of the $115.00 he is asking. $57.50 to an address of his choice.

                           Sincerely

Review: This business agreed to change the oil on an ATV Quad (Suzuki). At the time of service the threads in the case of the engine were stripped. I confronted the owner and he called me a lair, said this could not happen and got very nasty. There is not question in my mind that this what happen and where it happen. It was the first time the oil was changed in the quad.Desired Settlement: To repair this mistake it took the drilling and tapping of the case of the engine. The item used was a Time Sert that cost $110 plus labor to replace. I expect the business to compensate for the price of the repair item. And an apology for the treatment I received.
