Review: I am filling on the behalf of my elderly parents, [redacted] and [redacted] who are 86 and 84. I recently moved my parents up here in VA to be by me and based my decsion to do so on two key factors. The first factor was it had to be affordable and second I needed a care giver who could come into their apartment four times a day to cook, clean and help my dad with his care. I met with the HomeCare representative at the [redacted] of [redacted] apartments were we went over my parents requirements and being assured they could meet my parents needs, I signed a contract with best Care for $19.99/hr. on 4-29-13. Things were going well when they sent me a bill that changed the rate of hourly care from $19.99/hr to $ 45/hr without any notice. I refused to pay that rate and they adjusted back to the contract price but shortly there after sent me a letter saying they will cancel the contract on 30 June unless I agree to pay $45/hr. I beleive they have taken advantage of my elderly parents situation thinking we have no other choices. I also feel this might be common practice for this company. My parents are on a very fixed income and for them to more than double the price of care three months after we enter a contract to me is criminal.Desired Settlement: I believe that BB should follow this up with a warning to the company about their unfair policies and honor their original contract price.

I([redacted]) contacted the client's son and explained the error that was made by BestCare representative at the [redacted] of [redacted] on the initial contract. I explained the amount the

agency must pay to the home health aide in instances where the client

requires 1 hour at a time(Which is more than $19.99). The son was unwilling to re-negotiate the

contract. Discharge notice of 5 days per policy and regulatory

requirement was provided to the son. Son stated he would like to

continue our services as needed and would sign the new contract for an

as needed basis. Services were provided to the client through 6/30/13

as agreed with the son.
