I response to Complaint ID [redacted] .I will respond honestly and to the best of my abilityI believed it was in when we last serviced [redacted] chimney.I will address the insurance firstThe binders that I had was not dated for the time she requestedI called my insurance company to get an updated binder as we do this for anyone that request a copy of our insurance and found that my agents was on vacation and would be away until another week and a halfThe lady in his office transferred me to the owner of the agency voice mailWhen he return my call , he asked me to clarify what type of work our business didAfter speaking to him, we decided that a Handyman policy better fit our needsHe wrote me a new policyThis is a $2,000,policy which covered all her chimney needs.Change of start dateThe reason the start date was change was because she insisted that Ron Sr be there while the work was being doneRon [redacted] was not available to go to her home until September 26, 2014.Senior citizen discountShe was told that there was not a discount because she had already received a discount of $dollars off of the original price due to being a previous customerShe kept asking Ron Sr for a discount , she told him that she didn't have a lot of moneyRon Sr said, he couldn't make that call that he would have to talk to his sonsAfter talking to his sons they decided to give her an additional $off.Screws on top of stove pipesRon Sr asked, [redacted] if she knew why and who may of put screws into the top of the stove pipeShe said she didn't know, but it must of been her husband but didn't know whyI asked if she wanted the guys to put new screws in and if they did that they would have to be sealed with high heat sealerShe said, go ahead and put the new screws in and seal it.Handyman, building inspector and other contractorWhen [redacted] called and stated her concernsShe was told by Ron Sr that he would bring someone with him (Ron Sr no longer climbs on roofs due to health issues) to check on her complaint [redacted] said, that the person that was going to fix whatever was wrong, advise her not to allow anyone from our business to come out and get back on her roofAt that point Ron Sr told [redacted] ***, if she wouldn't allow anyone on her roof to check out her complaint, we would not give her a refund and she would also void her Five Year Warranty if she allowed anyone else to work on her chimneyShe also, refuse to give us the name of the person she talk to about a building permit.RefundSince [redacted] refusal to allow anyone to come to her house to check out the complaint, then therefore she will not receive any type of refund now or in the futureAlso, if any other person or persons has did any type of work or alteration to her chimney, her Year Warranty becomes Null and Void.*She was not yelled at, as she claims

Revdex.com: I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted] , and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below [To assist us in bringing this matter to a close, we would like to know your view on the matter.]The tenants had nothing to do with any decision The fireplace wasn't working and we needed it repaired along with glass replaced due to another vendor attempted repair that never came back Replacing an $piece of glass in a fireplace that doesn't work does't make any common sense I should have been told that the fireplace couldn't be repaired or there was no parts and then no one in their right mind would replace glade within something that doesn't workThe obvious goal for any call is to have a working fireplace not a new piece of glass in a fireplace that cannot be repaired I don't know how anyone can refute the logic of this complaint Regards, [redacted] ***

[redacted] knows that her statement is not trueAs I mention before, [redacted] had her tenant show me where she though the basement was leaking [redacted] lives out of town in Colorado, so she was not present when I went now her basement with her tenant when she showed me where it was leakingFrom the information and visual inspection where she though the basement was leaking I concentrated on that areaI did the repair per our contractThe other side came in after I started the jobI have pictures available of the completed job [redacted] and I both agreed that I would seal the window at no charge to her to see if that would stop the leak on that side and that there may be additional work required at and additional cost to [redacted] The sealing of the windows was just a test, any other claim [redacted] is making is a flat out Lie and that is one word I do not usally use [redacted] why did you pay me for the work that I completed???Submitted by Ron ***

Revdex.com: I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted] , and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint In response: The first visit to my home was September 8, and my contract was written by Ron JrI have not talked to or been able to get in touch with him since the September 26, installationAll telephone numbers that I have for this business have been answered by Ron [redacted] and I have not been able to speak with Ron Jreven though I had asked to speak with him several timesSo how can Ron Jranswer the complaint filed when he was not available? I was led to believe that Ron Jrwould be taking over the business and was in charge per Ron Jrhowever, again, he was not accessible Insurance: I was told at the initial visit of September 8, that he, Ron Jr., would get me a copy of the insurance policy that it was at home and they would see that I received a copyI was given a copy September 26, on the day the work was to be done and it was a new policy written that week according to the insurance office with an effective date of September 25, I was told by the lady at their insurance office that it was a new policy written that weekAgain, I was told at the September 8, visit that they had insurance Ron Jrtold me September 8, that he would contact me on Friday or Monday and that the work would be done that weekI had not heard back from him so I called on September 16, and was told by Ron ***, who answered the telephone, that the work would be done on September 26, and that he would call me back about the insuranceAt no time did I insist that Ron [redacted] be thereI simply asked if he was going to be there and he asked me if I wanted him to be there and I answered yesAt no time did I insist that he be thereSenior Citizen discount: I was never told that I was getting a $discount for being a previous customer until I received the response to my complaintIt was never mentioned that I was receiving a discount for being a past customerI never discussed my finances and told him that I did not have a lot of moneyI never talked to Ron [redacted] about any discount it was Ron Jrthat I asked if they had a senior citizens discountRon Jrtold me that he would give me $off if I left them good feedback with the Revdex.comRon [redacted] did ask me about the screws in the stove pipeHowever, I did not say that I did not knowI told him that his company did this in My husband would never take on a job to that extent because my husband was in poor health and was not able to do this type of work nor did he know anything about chimneysI was never asked if I wanted new screws put in and seal itWhy would an expert contractor ask a year old woman about something she knows nothing about? My handyman came the day after the work had been performed and noticed that the chimney cap was looseThis is when I noticed excessive silicone caulk and questioned the safetyMy handyman had nothing to do with this other than noticing the loose capI went to the fire department and asked if they could look at the chimney and this is when I was asked if I had a permit for the work that was doneIt was at this time that I contacted the building department to see if a permit had been obtainedI was informed by the lady that answered the telephone at the building department that a permit had not been obtained and that I had to get one and have the work inspected before the chimney could be usedI went to the building department and got the permitThe inspector came out and red tagged the workThis was on October 3, On October 6, I called and got hold of Ron [redacted] again, and explained the inspector came and red tagged the workHe became upset was angry and hostile and wanted to know how the building inspector got involved and that he, the building inspector, did not know what he was talking aboutHe also stated that if his company would have gotten the permit it would have cost me more money to have this job doneHe stated that he would get all of the necessary information for the building inspector and contact the building inspector which he did not doHe wanted me to have the building inspector call him and the building inspector stated that they, the building department, do not do thatIt is the responsibility of the contractorIt should be noted that time elapsed from October 6, to October 14, He did not contact the building department to take care of the red tag, it was a week and he still had not taken care of thisOctober 14, I called the company and again, got hold of Ron [redacted] as of this date they had not taken care of correcting the items for inspectionNor did they make an effort to contact me to redo or make good of any workThis is when I told them about the items and work that I was charged for and never receivedI explained that I would like to be refunded for the things that I was charged for and did not receive and for the work that was charged for and not performed I was told that he would talk to Ron Jrwhen he got back into town, I was never given a specific dateI called back October 15, and once again, Ron ***, answered and told me that I was "not getting a dime back" "you complained from day one" "if someone else touches the job it will void the year warranty" It was at this point that he stated if I called again that he would file telephone harassment charges against meWhy would I allow someone to come to my home that has threatened me? At no time up to and beyond this point has Ron [redacted] or Ron Jraddressed the issue of charging me for work and parts that was not performed or suppliedAs far as giving them the name of the person I talked to about the building permit it was the fire department to which I had asked to look at the chimney because I was concernedAny work that is done a permit is to be obtained and they, the company I hired should have known this and taken care of thisI did not know that a permit was needed nor should I have been expected to know this as I was contracting what I thought was a reputable companyThe company should know if a permit is needed to be secured and if they are not sure, then they should have done the checking to find out if one is neededInstead it seems as if they hope to get by with their work being sufficient enough to not get caughtJust like with the insuranceIt was not secured until I asked if they had itNo one offered to come and make good of the work until I repeatedly called and then was met with threats and a nasty dispositionAs far as the refund, I am only asking to be refunded for the items that I did not receive as outlined in your contractI am not even asking for reimbursement for the other individual to make good of the work that your company performed(Your work was red tagged and you had not contacted the building department to correct the items)But it was necessary for me to have another individual redo your work to have it pass inspection and to be safe to useAs for your five year warrantyI believe it is only as good as the paper that it is writtenYou charged me for things that I did not receive and your contract meant nothingIt should be noted that the contact was written September 8, 2014, work was performed September 26, and was not passed for inspection until October 21, (after work was corrected by another individual)As for your ending sentenceI never stated that I was yelled at Regards, [redacted] ***

Revdex.com: I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted] , and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint Mr.L.'s continued response is that he would like to come out and inspect his workWe have stated previously, that MrLhad a chance to review his work on December 31, To overcome this back and forth, we will allow MrLto come and inspect his work one more time Regards, [redacted]

This is in response to ID ***.Let me set the record straight with the true factsI was contacted by *** *** through a company called ***When speaking to *** over the phone she explained to me that she lived in Colorado and that her tenant that lived there would let me into the
basement and let me know where it was leakingAs I was going down the basement steps I noticed a small puddle of water on the basement floor (it had not rain for three days) I asked the tenant where that water came from and she said from the crack in the wall under the steps and at the floor, that it always leaks from the crack a couple of days even after it quits rainingWe walked around the basement to see if there were other areas leaking in the basementI asked her if that was the only area leaking, she said she believed soThe area in question had had personal items along the wallAfter two days on the job and almost completed, a gentlemen came out of the house and told me that the basement was leaking on the other side from the windowSo when we went to the basment to check that area, I noticed that the personal items were missing and replaced by a carpet, furniture, a television and a stero system and other itemsThe gentleman told me when it rain the night before that his carpet got wetI told him when I talk to the landlord that I would let her know.I finished the job later that day and called *** to let her know the job was completed and told her what the gentlemen said about the other side of the basement leakingShe started questioning me who the gentleman was and if he lived thereI told *** I didn't knowShe said, it's probably a boyfriend and she would find out, because the only ones on the lease was the tenant and her childI told *** that was between them. After that conversation, I suggested to her that we wait until the next rain to see where it was leaking on the other side*** paid me the balance due in full. After the next rain she said, her tenant called and said that water leaked through the window and down the basement walls on the other side of the basement and the area we fixed was no longer leakingI told *** that since we done the other work for her that I would seal the windows for her at no charge to see if that would stop the leak, but there would be know quarantee that would stop the leak and further action may be required to stop the leakI beleive that the reason her tenant didn't notice that leak before was because of the items stored next to the wall. After several attempts to meet with the tenant to get into the basement and check the leak around the windowsThe guys I sent to her house notice that they were closed off on the outsideAfter checking the outside, they noticed that they were covered over with dirt and grass along the foundation on that side of the house, they call me immediatelyI told *** that the dirt would have to be removed, so we could gain access to the windows*** asked me if I would seal the windows on the inside, I told her no because if the sealer stopped the water from coming in that I believed if water got around the outside of the window in the winter when it was below freezing that the window would burstI told *** again that the dirt had to be removed to gain access to the windows, she refused.I understand ***'s frustration, but she left her tenant in charge to determine where the water was coming into the basementI beleived if the items stored next to the wall in front of the window were not there she would notice that leakI told *** if I would of been told by her tenant that basement was leaking there also, that the estimate I gave her would of been a lot higher due to all the extra workShe still refuses to have the dirt removed. My question to *** is why did you pay me if I didn't fullfill my obligation of the contractThe contract is available for viewing to the Revdex.com only on written request.*** I say again, the dirt has to be removed in order for me to seal the window at no cost to youBut as we discussed, there will be no quarantee or none is to be implied that this will stop the water leak and further action may be reqiured to stop that area from leaking. ---Ron,Thank you for replying to the Revdex.com complaintI have no record on my phone or email of any attempt to contact me in the past six monthsAs you can see, my contact information has been clear in all my correspondence. Before I can consider a date to have the work done, I need to verify that you’re planning to use Class A chimney piping for the outside installation of the stove pipeAnything else is unacceptableI would like to have this response by email rather than phone.if we can resolve that question, I have some time off planned for the last week in September and would like to arrange for the installation at that time. *** ***###-###-####***

Revdex.com:
I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ***, and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint. In regards to the fact that I at no time asked to speak with Ron Jr. One time when I called and asked to speak with him I was told that Ron Jrwas working underneath a car and the telephone was given to Ron *** Another time Ron *** answered the telephone and I was told that Ron Jrwas out of townI have not talked to Ron Jrexcept when I signed the contract and when the work was doneThe only reason that I asked for him to begin with is because Ron Jr told me that he was taking over the companyAs for the insurance policy I called the insurance office on the 26th because the policy they had given me was dated for the 25th and I was told that this was a NEW POLICY written that week. I signed the contract on September at which time I was told they had insurance and would get a copy of the policy to meI obviously was lied toRegarding the refund. I am not asking for a refund on the work performed but the work and items that I was charged for and did NOT receiveAs outlined in my previous e-mail I was charged for a boot, a storm collar, and for sealing around the new boot. None of this was doneI am only asking for a refund on parts and labor that I DID NOT RECIEVEAs also outlined in my previous e-mail, I had to pay for a permit that your company failed to secure, and to have the work done that did not pass inspection that WAS performed by your companyRon *** said that he was going to call the inspector and NEVER did

This work was contracted with the previous ownerI received a phone call from a gentleman concerning his fireplace, I told him I was in the area and that I could come on over and meet with himWhen I arrived at the house he told me smoke was coming out of the fireplaceI suggested to him that he
may want to try different wood that was dry and seasoned (normally season wood is cut and on the ground for a year and then stacked and cover for a least a six months), I explain this to him and that he may want to get a flue tile installed on top of the chimneyI then asked him if he had a copy of the contract, he said he had an invoice and he gave me a copy of itAs soon as I looked at it I knew it didn't come from meI told him I needed to get a copy of the contract to see what was noted on itThe invoice said there was a top cap damper installed, I told him again that I needed to check the contractHe then asked me what the cost would be to install a top cap damper and flue tile on the chimney, I told him if the contract noted a top cap damper was supposed to be installed it would be at no charge but if not the cost would be $He said he would talk to the lady who owned the house and that someone would get back to meI never heard back from either one of them until *** email me demanding her money backI email *** back and told her I would like to meet with her and go over everything with her but she refusedI am unable to do anything for her if she refuses to meet with me.Submitted by: Ron L

Revdex.com:
I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ***, and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint The work performed by MrL occured as the house was being soldThe fact that the new owner is bringing this suit forward, does not release MrLfrom being held accountable for his faulty, negligent workHe performed the work on May 13, We moved into the house April 1, 2016.We have been in contact with the previous owner who is outraged and also believes MrLshould be held accountable for his faulty work. The copy of the contract that MrLis disputing did in fact come from MrLThe seller's agent has the original email from MrLemail address, and the disputed contract is attached to that emailWe asked MrLfor a copy of his official invoice or work order in person on December 31, 2015, and again over the phone on 01-12-We never received it. On 02-24-2016, I refused MrLrequest to come over and inspect his work because we had already given MrLa chance, on December 31, 2015, to inspect itMany of the problems are highly visible, and MrLcontinued to overlook themI do not have confidence in MrL's work, and therefore, do not want him to do any additional work to the chimneyWe want to get refunded for the faulty, negligent work that was performed, as well as work that was supposed to be performed and was not.

Let me make it clearRon Jr is not the owner nor is he taking over the business. Now for the insurance policy You will find the explanation and the reason I had a new policy wroteBut the bottom line isI fill this new policy fits our business needs better than the last one.As I explain before in my previous response the reason there will be no refundWhen *** *** first call and shared her complaint with me, I told her I would need to come to her home and bring someone with me ( due to health reasons I don't climb) to check out her complaintShe told me, that the guy doing the work for her, told her not to allow me on her roofShe refuse to let me check out the work.Submitted by Ron *** Sr

Regards,
*** ***---Ron sent his work crew to initially assess the work The second time to install the glass that they got only to have mis-sized it and had to take it back and -resize resulting in a 3rd visit He demanded half of the cost of the glass up front which of course I willingly paid of and then when the glass was installed, they demanded the remaining even through the fire place was not working He just installed the glass and left a nonworking fireplace I unfortunately paid what was asked not realizing that they were not going to continue the work to get it working He did say that AFTER he installed an $piece of glass that it may be hard to find parts Why would he agree to install $piece of glass in a fireplace that was never going to work When I talked to him throughout the remainder of times that he very nicely said he would send someone out, I told him to either find the parts or replace the fireplace There was never a return visit after he got his money for the grossly overpriced piece of glass that was installed in what he is now saying is a fireplace that he cannot fix as there are no parts It doesn’t make customer sense to install expensive glass in a fireplace that he says was questionable he could fix A reputable company and man would have given this information first, No customer would decide to dump $in a fireplace that was never going to work

To refund the $is not a problem, but to tell me that I did not stop by his house and live business cards is just not trueHe is totally right, I could have called

Yes we will be using Class A chimney pipingThree of my guys and I will be on a job for a couple weeks, please have *** contact me through my email at [email protected] so we can schedule a time that's convenient for both of us

I tried to meet with the customer but she refusesWe have a Year Warranty on our work, if she does not allow me to meet with her to inspect the complaint and address it there is nothing I can do for her. Submitted by: Ron L

I spoke to the customer last year and I told him we would stop by his house to see if he really needed the liner because he showed reservation about really needing the linerHe said his wife is home all the timeI stop by personally on two different occasionsThere was no answer, so I left a
business card on the f*t and back doorsThe number that is on our web site is a tracking number and should forward to our phoneOur direct number is ***
