Best deal auto sales, specifically the "import store" on Goshen rdwon me over with their professional, kind and non pressuring attitudesI knew when I purchased my vehicle from them that day and drove off the lot that I would be back when we were ready to purchase a second vehicle!

Initial Business Response /* (1000, 5, 2017/12/28) */
The customer never asked for me to pay for the repairHad I been asked, I would have paid for itSince this complaint was filed, the customer did call and asked that I repair the windshield, which I am doing
Initial Consumer Rebuttal /*

Dear [redacted], I talked to [redacted] about this and he said he was more than willing to pay for a remote after market costing about [redacted] that we would cover the entire cost on. WE were not willing to pay for a factory remote start costing us...

[redacted] so if you would like to have an after market remote start put in go ahead and have it done. Bring us the receipt showing it was done and we will pay up to [redacted] for it. I hope this is satisfactory to you. Sincerely [redacted]

Initial Business Response /* (1000, 6, 2017/03/15) */
Upon request from the customer, I did check the vehicle for any mechanical issues. I looked over, and test drove the vehicle, and did not find any issues. Additional pictures of the interior were sent as requested. We negotiated price, which we...

agreed to lower from [redacted] to [redacted] Due to the vehicle being a used 2002 Cadillac Eldorado. I sent the vehicle to have a remote start installed, as requested by the customer. The price that I was quoted was almost [redacted] less than what I was charged, I agreed to cover the difference being that was the price the customer had agreed to. I started the car every day for almost a week to make sure the battery was good due to the very low temperatures,as requested by the customer. When the vehicle was picked up by the transporter, the vehicle started and drove on to the trailer with out any issue. After hearing of the charging issue with the alternator, I talked to our manager and we agreed to cover over half the cost of the the repair, in an attempt to help the customer out and maintain a good relationship. I feel that we, as a dealership, have gone above and beyond to reasonably respond to the customer's requests.

(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)
There is no clear statement as to what checking "the vehicle for mechanical issues" means beyond looking "it over and test driving" it. The issues that I've highlighted are beyond being determined in such a perfunctory manner. I've provided documentation as to what this vehicle IS IN NEED of mechanically, and these did not occur overnight i.e. battery (dated 1995 in an 02 vehicle), power antenna, side view mirrors, driver side window, wiper control and of course the major issues of rear struts, shocks and sub frame mounts. During a discussion with [redacted] about the aforementioned check toward the alternator cost, he informed me that his boss had told him, that the next time he sells a vehicle that he 'has to check it out thoroughly' so this confirmed my belief that the vehicle had NOT been checked. Upon arrival to my driveway, the driver of the transport vehicle could NOT start the vehicle forcing him to roll it off, nor would it take a jump. I believe this problem of start up (along with all others I've identified and documented) existed prior the vehicle leaving the dealership.

When the vehicle was picked up by the transport company it started and drove with out any issues. No notes were made by the transport company of any starting issue. After the alternator was replaced, I received a copy of the bill from Colonial Cadillac, and documentation, which I attached, states that all issues other than the antenna and the weather stripping were resolved with the repair to the charging system. I had no issues with the antenna functioning when I was test driving, and we had no leaking issues when we washed the car in our detail center. The discussion with my boss was in regards to recommending that all customers, who have not personally seen a vehicle, have the vehicle inspected by an outside repair facility before purchase. I received a call from the customer, and he asked if he could just send the vehicle back. I told him that I could send him a check for [redacted] to help offset the cost of the alternator replacement, but that would be all I was able to do. The customer agreed to accept the check, if that was all we were able to do. I sent the check UPS, then received an email that he still wanted to return the vehicle. I stopped the shipment, contacted the customer, and again explained that I was able to send a check for [redacted] but that would be final. The customer gave me a verbal agreement that "that was going to have to do."
Final Consumer Response /* (4200, 12, 2017/04/01) */
(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)
In response to the comments on the antenna working prior to shipping, I note again that it was NOT working as noted in the document from Colonial Cadillac. Specifially "Needs new antenna... needs weatherstripping for drivers door" The statement goes on to say "all other issues resolved with the charging system working properly". At that point in time, ALL I WAS HAVING CHECKED was the charging system given that I'd had multiple times when the vehicle would not start nor take a jump, even after having purchased a new battery, as noted in my previous statements. I did not request the vehicle be more thoroughly inspected at that time as I was planning to go to my local mechanic which I did the following week, only to find the more costly suspension problems (identified in previous statement). As to accepting the [redacted] check toward the cost of the alternator, well of course I accepted it! At that point, I was looking at upwards of $4000 in repairs, and it was clear that Best Deal Auto sales was not going to offer any more than that. There was no verbal agreement to drop my complaint. Therefore going through Revdex.com is my effort to obtain better resolution to this issue. I'm 63 years old, have purchased many vehicles over the years, including others from out of state - this is the first time that i've not received an accurate description of the vehicle and its mechanical condition. I feel as though i've been taken advantage of because of my location, and do not appreciate the lack of integrity being conveyed by Best Deal Auto Sales.

I recently was shopping for a used pickup truck in good condition. I used at least half a dozen on line car finder services which allowed me to see hundreds of trucks in the Fort Wayne area. Many of the dealers I have seen advertising on local media almost every day. There were also many dealers that I had never heard of and it seemed that those were the businesses that were most interested in talking with me. I was hesitant because I had no basis upon which to build a trust with these dealers. For that reason I checked every potential seller with the Revdex.com. Best Deal had an A+ rating. I decided to stop by for talk and feel them out. [redacted] found me inspecting a pickup on his lot and we talked for a while. He told me that a buyer had that truck on hold but he would contact me if the deal fell through.. That deal did fall through so I returned for another conversation. [redacted] let me talk. He didn't try to pressure me and I liked that. I told him I wanted to get the truck inspected at a neutral garage and he made that go very smoothly. The inspection showed a few things to think about. [redacted] said he would take care of all my concerns. That is just what he did. We bought the truck and our experience was great. He will be the man to see if I need any more cars. The price was lower than I expected. I usually want to bargain but I couldn't justify asking for a lower price than what he offered me. I highly recommend Best Deal. They have a sizeable and courteous service department too.
