On [redacted] March [redacted] I parked in the location across from the [redacted] When I went to pay, the woman asked me how long I was staying and I said until [redacted] March [redacted] She said that will be $10 total or I could pay $20 if I wanted in-and-out privileges. I informed her I would not be moving my car until Sunday and she said that would be $10 and gave me a ticket. She didn't give me any further instructions or additional information. I put the ticket on my dashboard as I saw in the other cars parked and I did not return until Sunday. When I got to my car, a woman [redacted] asked me if this was my car. I said yes. She told me that I owed money on my billed. I explained to her, the woman did not tell I had to pay any additional information, in fact, the woman working when I arrived told me if I only paid $20 I could have in and out privileges all weekend. She told me that was wrong and that I had to not only pay $10 , but an additional $10 for a service fee for not coming to pay for Saturday. I explained again how none of this was communicated with me and I should not have to pay when I was not given this information. She rudely told me that I did and I wrote a check for the amount as I was running late to go home. This is terrible business practice as Best Park's staff clearly made an error when I checked in and I was forced to pay for that mistake. Had I been told of the daily charges and given complete instructions, I could have made an informed decision. I was not given any additional information and I should only have to pay the amount I was told I had to pay when I arrived at the location.Desired SettlementI would like a refund of my $20 (I paid by check and it was cashed) as I was only told I had to pay $10 for my entire stay and then I had to pay an additional $20 for fees I was never made aware of verbally or in writing.Business Response Contact Name and Title: [redacted] OwnerContact Phone: XXX-XXX-XXXXContact Email: [redacted]@bestparktn.comWe parked over 400 cars the weekend, starting March [redacted] to the [redacted] for the [redacted] convention at a posted rate of $10 per day. We did not have this communication problem with anybody else (that I was made aware of). Our signs are clear that the rate is a Daily Fee and re-sets/starts over every morning at 7am. Upon entering we communicate with customers staying in the hotel's that if they wish to pre-pay their parking they may do so to avoid having to come out to the lot to pay for that day, we also grant the customer in and out privileges if they pre-pay the parking. Ms. [redacted]'s vehicle was written a violation for expired ticket on both Saturday and Sunday morning, the fee charge her was simply for the space she occupied for the two days that had not been paid for in advance. I don't agree that this customer should be refunded $20, since she did occupy a paid space for two additional days. Consumer Response (The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)Firstly, let me start my reply by saying Customer Service with Best Park is clearly not a priority. (If you are a customer and reading their reply, please look at the tone and notice they did not use any salutations or pleasantries.) The tone in this reply is cold and the employee I encountered was unprofessional and rude. She actually made smart comments to me. Secondly, I am reading the sarcasm in your reply about no other individuals complaining and that's fine. Not to mention, you say that signs are posted all around the parking lot; however, I have used parking services several times in the past in downtown areas and the parking rules are different during Special Events as I assumed this was as the worker verbally told me the rates and gave me additional options. Thirdly, I stand by my original complaint and I was verbally told by the Best Park employee upon my arrival that I only had to pay $10. She asked me how long I planned on staying before giving me an amount. Further, had I been told the amount your Company is saying was the correct amount; I may have chose a different option. It is very unfortunate to see this is how your company operates and that customer service is a low priority. I know when I come back to [redacted] for any reason, not to support Best Park as you don't value your customers and you and your staff are not very pleasant.
