Revdex.com: I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ***, and have determined that the response does not resolve my complaintMy comments appear below: * Greenscapes was not supposed to thin out the perennials. Per the contract, they were supposed to “clean up edge beds and remove debris/weeds/leaves.” I did not ask them to remove perennials, nor did I anticipate that they would do soThere must have been a misunderstanding, when we clean up a landscape bed part of what we do is to thin out & dead head over grown perennials as they tend to spread over time and we prune them back so they are not encroaching onto surrounding plants or buildings. Part of this service inevitably involves removing portions of perennials to maintain their health and surrounding plants health. This gives the bed a presentable and clean appearance. * Given the amount of damage that was done to my property and the plants that were removed during Greenscapes first visit, I did not want them to return. When a discount was offered, I stated that it would need to be the amount an average homeowner would pay to replace the plants. Greenscapes did not even afford me that courtesyGreenscapes offered to buy, deliver, & install the perennials that the customer said were removed as professional courtesy. We were told that we did not have permission to do this service or to come back onto the customers property. Our next attempt to reconcile the situation was to simply buy and deliver the plants to the customer, however, we were told the customer wanted to pick out the plants themselves. We ultimately extended the cost of the replacement plants on the invoice which is reflected on their invoice under “customer discount”. We buy our plants at wholesale so there is no reason for us to refund plant material at a retail price* I voiced concern about the damage done to the trees and said that I didn’t want to have to replace two mature trees. Greenscapes gave me the name and phone number of a licensed arborist and recommended that I contact him. If the business did send the arborist to my home to view the damage, it was without my knowledge or consent and the arborist did not notify me with a report of his findingsThe arborist inspected the trees on the customer’s property and assured us that the small knick on the bark on of the customers trees will not cause any harm to the trees. We sent a certified arborist who has been in the industry for over years so we do not question his judgement* Greenscapes did NOT, at any time, offer to replace the damaged downspout. Nor did they offer to discount the cost of my purchasing or installing the downspout. We did offer to replace and fix the downspout, but she did not want us on the property. We would be willing to discount the invoice at an additional $to help resolve this issue. The downspout has a small dent on it however it is still functional* The outstanding amount of the bill has been paid, not because I am satisfied with the way in which this complaint was handled by the business, but because of my commitment to meet financial obligations. The only resolution that Greenscapes can make at this point is to refund the amount it would take for an AVERAGE HOMEOWNER to replace the plants that were removed from my yard Again, Greenscapes purchases plant material at wholesale prices so we credited the customers invoice to reflect that cost

Following the completion of the [redacted] job, Greenscapes went by as a routine quality check of our work.  We noted that everything looked great, the rock that was installed looked great and would help with the drainage issues, the beds were pruned and trimmed back.  Our only note...

was that we probably could have thinned out more of the perennials but to wait and see what the customer says.   Ms. [redacted] contacted us after this visit and said she had an extensive amount of perennials removed, which we were very surprised at the volume of perennials she had claimed especially after noting on our quality control visit that we thought more could be thinned back.  We offered to come back out to deliver and install the perennials that she advised we had taken out.  She said she wanted to pick out and install the perennials herself and that she did not want anyone to come back to her property.  Since are hands were tied by her not wanting us on her property, we then explained our next option we could offer to her which was offering her a discount off her invoice for our cost of the perennials which is what ended up happening.   Ms. [redacted] also had an issue with a gouge on two of her trees which looked like a shovel chip or possibly a wheelbarrow had knicked them.  She explained that they were going to die.  We assured her that they were not going to die and that these minor surface abrasions would not cause any adverse long term health issues with her trees.  To reassure her more we sent a licensed arborist out to assess the situation and he 100% assured us that a shovel nick in the bark would not harm her trees.   She also stated that she did not like the rock that was installed so we offered to install another variety at cost, even though this rock that was installed was itemized on the proposal that she approved and signed off on.  We also offered to replace the downspout that had a minor dent on it, however, she made it clear that she did not want us on her property.  Ultimately, we settled with her with a monetary discount for all of her issues.

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted].  While I appreciate that Greenscapes is trying to address this complaint, the company continues to make excuses for the damage that was done to my property.  Nevertheless, I'll accept the offer of $100 for the damaged downspout.  Needless to say, I won't be a repeat customer.
