Best Price Movers Columbus GA Reviews (%countItem)

Best Price Movers stole all our household belongings in a scam.
Best Price Movers and its owner, ***, entered into a contract to move our household belongings from ***, GA to New *** After loading the truck on February 22, 2019, the owner failed to deliver the items and instead, put them in storage at an unknown location and refuses to tell me where my possessions are (valued at around $30,000).

Desired Outcome

I want to know where all of my possessions are being held and I want a refund for the $1,925 paid to date for the services that led to the theft.

Best Price Movers Columbus GA Response • May 01, 2019

God afternoon. Thank you for giving me the opportunity to present my case with Mr. This has been one big ugly mess with the guy from the beginning to now. Mr. first agreed to our services on 2/13/2019 never paid his deposit until the 15th that evening. Due to the holiday on Monday, his deposit wasn't received until Tuesday, his shipping date was on Friday the 22nd, we took him anyway, at that point confirmed booking, not by the contract agreed upon on 2/13/2019, then the day of services, at loading he was supposed to pay at arriving, to ensure no delays on departure, he didn't pay until 5:30 that evening. We couldn't leave without payment and notified Mr. on Saturday his payment had not been received and his shipment would be delayed and delivered the next weekend. He verbally agreed then. I proceeded the following Thursday to get another pass to leave the state and rented another truck to transport his items, plus we had to pull his shipment on the Monday (President Day) and put in storage. Reloaded him that Thursday and was ready to leave Saturday afternoon. Mr *** went on my Facebook page on Friday morning, bashing my company name accusing me and my company of stealing his items, we went back and forth, bottom line is he breached his contract twice, I went outta my way to accommodate him even going to a bigger truck ( adjusting to his inventory) more than what we previewed on, Mr *** owes me for the (2nd truck) the storage, the labor for unloading into storage, pulling from storage and putting in back into storage, not to mention the lies he got on all of my websites and talked bad about me and my company. Please follow the timeline of all events occurred. I am sending you the entire transcript from beginning to end.

Mr. response is inaccurate with regards to dates and times. He was paid immediately on each request and put our belongings in storage. The *** Police Department executed a search warrant on his storage facility on March*** 2019 and found about 60% of our household goods. There are still thousands of dollars in missing items. This case is fully documented with the *** PD

Failure to show for contracted moving assistance, failure to respond to contact attempts, and theft of two deposits totaling $350.00.
Best Price Movers *** was contracted to move us on Friday, 7/13/18 at 8am. He was paid two deposits in the amount of $175 each ($350 total) early in the week of the move to reserve a truck. He wouldn't accept cash and requested we use GooglePay for deposit. We signed contract/returned and payment was submitted the same day- one week prior to the move. GooglePay took several days to "process" the payment so I contacted *** early in the week concerned asking if I could pay another $175 in cash with receipt to ensure the truck was reserved- by the time Friday arrived the other $175 would be finished processing and we could simply deduct that from the balance due on that date. This would ensure we had no issues come Friday morning as we were on a very strict timeline to move. This was an unexpected move for us and followed a string of bad luck so it was difficult to come up with the money to hire movers but we had no choice- which *** was aware of as well and seemed very compassionate about- now I know why. It was all a hoax. Best Price Movers did not show up to move us on 7/13. The day began with an early call from *** about a flat tire and delay. He called several hours later stating he was picking up the truck and his guy and on the way. After that he stopped answering his phone and wouldn't respond to texts. There were literally approximately 100 contact attempts by us throughout the day. Someone we know who knew what was going on tried calling *** from his phone and SHOCK he answers that call-there were words spoken. We then receive a text which states there are no trucks available in the area and he may have to drive out of town to get one. But that was the last we heard from him. He didn't answer calls or texts for the remainder of the day and never showed up. I was able to reserve a truck no problem at 6:30 at night for the next MUCH BUSIER Saturday morning. It wasn't quite as big as a 26 ft but we were moving 2.5 miles away. An extra trip was nothing and costs all of another $5 to make. I don't believe for one second there were no trucks available on Friday but even if that were true- had he reserved the truck earlier in the week like he was supposed to with that deposit money it wouldn't have been a problem anyway. He robbed us. That's all there is to it. Once we accepted the fact we had been scammed that evening, we rented a truck and picked up supplies to move ourselves the next day. I sent him a text Friday evening saying I don't know how he sleeps at night and I wanted the full $350 back which he stated he would return. Do you think he has? Nope. Here we are one week later and nothing. I sent the request back to him through the GooglePay service he likes to use with a 24 hour deadline and when it wasn't received- I sent multiple reminders and a few texts as well. No response whatsoever regarding the deposit. Later that night he texted he will come in morning. We saw Saturday morning/responded- never heard from him. Please do not let this happen to you! I didn't enter into this uneducated- so I thought. I read reviews online on various sites which were positive. I thought this man was on the up and up. He seemed professional enough for the type of business it is. I saw the one bad Revdex.com review but it referenced $30 and I knew that wasn't enough to reserve a truck so I figured there was more to the story and ignored it. DO NOT IGNORE THIS WARNING! There was one review site I didn't find prior to our move which I wish I had seen and that was his business Facebook page which I'm sure he'll delete once this posts.

Desired Outcome

I want a refund of the $350 we gave him to move us.

Mrs *** you were warm that this time of year about paying your deposit day of booking to prevent any delays. You booked us on 7/5, your move was on 7/13, you didn't pay your deposit until 7/11 btw( no refund if canceled within 48 hrs. Enough said!) we don't own our trucks as explained to you at preview. Again this is peak season and trucks are limited. I sent you an invoice on 7/5, checked back with you on 7/7 because no deposit was received then called my merchant to find the problem they notified me my account was good and that the deposit you paid had a restriction on it the way YOU SET IT UP! Then I call you to let you know it was your end you act like you didn't know what was going on. For the record I have kids to play with, and at this point you were wasting my time so I warned you again about the deposit on 7/8 & 7/9, the only way you booking was solidified was by paying you deposit to reserve the truck avability was to pay the deposit, again warning about the truck limitation at this time of year. You finally got me a deposit on 7/11 of $175 cash then your deposit was released from my merchant later that night of $175. Tuen we proceeded to try and find your truck all day 7/12 & all day 7/13, finally got 1 at closing of 7/13, txt you to let you know we found 1 , and you canceled. You have went on my business page being very unprofessional ***. You and your wife. You have dropped*** bombs all over my Facebook. You will not be receiving a refund of any kind from me for wasting my time!

(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)
I sent you a screen shot from Google Pay of my deposit being made/processing/etc. on 7/5 when the contract was signed. If this is a service you require that people use, you already knew-or should know- it would take processing time to receive. HOW- and WHY for that matter, would I put a hold on money I am trying to send to you when it's me seeking your services. That doesn't even make sense. Furthermore, I sent you a screen shot of the virtual chat with the Google Pay assistant which clearly states my bank released the funds to Google Pay on 7/5 and it was Google Pay that was taking the time to process. Again- the service YOU requested. The deposit was made in cash on 7/10 (not 7/11) and Google Pay sent you their money on 7/11. You can claim you spent all this time looking for a truck which we know isn't true because I was able to book one for a much busier Saturday at 6:30pm on a Friday night. That excuse doesn't make sense either. We didn't cancel your services- you didn't show up for our scheduled appointment or anytime that day for that matter nor would you answer calls or texts from us but you did from others. We even gave you another chance, against our better judgment, on Saturday morning when we received your text about supposedly finding a truck at 7:30pm Friday night and you still didn't show up or respond. A scam artist is what you are and maybe you have gotten away with this in the past with others but it won't happen this time. I will definitely see you in court. Come with all your excuses but they will not work in your favor this time because I have every piece of documentation to prove your failure to provide contracted services. A contract is a 2 way street. I did my part- twice actually- and you failed to do yours. As a final note... your contract was with ME. You have NEVER heard the*** word come out of my mouth or anything else unprofessional for that matter and it actually offends me that you would make such an allegation. I am a professional and that's how I handle myself in all realms of life. I have hundreds of people that can speak to my character. Do you? And I assure you NONE of those people have EVER in my entire life heard that word come out of my mouth. Reminder... your business FB page is public. People could see if I had done that. The lies don't help you in court bud... I personally haven't begun posting negative reviews yet because I was going to give you this opportunity to redeem yourself- which of course you won't because that's the type of person you are. We wasted your time? How about the 12 hours that you wasted of our time as we sat around our house full of kids with packed boxes and no utilities waiting for you to show up and you never did- and the time we had to take off work because you had to do Friday because you were booked Saturday- and that doesn't even include all the other time, effort and heartache you caused us having to find an alternative way to move in a hurry. All this in addition to the $350 you stole from us. All you did in your entire response was TRY to twist things around and make everything look like we caused this. Nothing you said makes any logical sense. We are the victims. You are the crook. End of story. See you in court!

NEVER SHOWED UP! KEPT THE $30 I had paid upfront! NEVER, NEVER, NEVER BEST PRICE MOVERS in Columbus, GA.
*** had scheduled to load the truck at 6:00 pm. He kept moving back the schedule by 20 minutes. By 9:00 pm he stopped answering my calls and NEVER SHOWED UP! I had to leave out of State the following morning. Imagine the stress trying to find movers at 10:00 pm on Friday night!
*** seemed so professional when I met him and my trust in him led me to the worst scam!
I can't believe he didn't even apologize and returned the$30 I had paid him upfront. Totally unreliable and unprofessional to say the least.

I have tried to be nice to you and respectful, but now you have went entirely too far. You seem to forget your original contract had (1) guy on work order.m, then you called me back (4) hrs prior to load out and ask for an extra man to replace your husband who was supposed to be there from jump. We understand you LOVE CHEAP LABOR! So we try to help but notified you of possibly a delay on arrival, then you were fine with it. So after we arrived ( me personally along with my guy) you wouldn't answer your phone 7:45, I left you a message) remember? My call long backs me! Then on top of that I still gave you your deposit back, I have the screenshot to prove that as well. DUECES!
