DID NOT DO ANY WORK FOR HER TO BE COMPLAINING TO THE B.B.B. BUT I WILL RESPOND TO HER FALSE ACCUSATIONS. ON AUGUST 7th ME AND MY CREW were Working ON A ROOF AT [redacted] AVE. WHEN THE SAW-HORSES GAVE OUT UP ON THE ROOF AND PLYWOOD SLID DOWN OFF THE ROOF AND A piece of plywood HIT THE HOUSE NEXT DOOR AT [redacted]. CONTRARY TO WHAT [redacted] STATED IN HER COMPLAINT I Myself DID COME DOWN OFF THE ROOF AND INSPECT WHAT HAPPENED.AND WAS MOSTLY CONCERNED THAT NO ONE WAS HURT.I TOLD The NEIGHBOR WHO I WAS AND THAT I WOULD TAKE CARE OF THE DAMAGE. THERE WAS ANOTHER PERSON THERE,I BELIEVE WAS THE REALTOR.WHO STATED THAT THERE WAS ALREADY Damage TO THE SIDING ON THAT SIDE OF THE HOUSE THAT WE DID NOT Do. I DID THEN LEAVE TO GO TO [redacted] AND GET ANOTHER SET OF SAWHORSES TO COMPLETE THE WORK WE WERE DOING AND CAME RIGHT BACK. I TOLD the H0MEOWNER I WOULD HAVE A SIDING CONTRACTOR COME OUT AND INSPECT THE Damage AND GIVE ME A ESTIMATE TO FIX THE DAMAGE. I TOLD HER THAT HE Told me it would cost $200.00 TO FIX AND I WOULD HAVE HIM DO IT IF THAT IS WHAT SHE WANTED. SHE STATED THAT THEY MAY WANT TO DO SOMETHING with THE WHOLE HOUSE AS FAR AS SIDING AND THAT SHE MIGHT WANT TO VINYL SIDE HER WHOLE HOUSE AND THAT I WAS SUPPOSED TO TALK TO HER BOYFRIEND ABOUT IT. I Did TALK WITH HER BOYFRIEND AND TOLD HIM WHAT I COULD GET IT FIXED FOR AND OFFERED HIM $ 2-50.00 SINCE SHE WAS THINKING ABOUT NOT HAVING IT FIXED. HE SAID HE WOULD TALK IT OVER WITH Her AND GET BACK WITH ME. I NEVER HEARD BACK FROM HIM AND SHE KEPT Calling THE BUSINESS TELEPHONE NUMBER WHICH SHE GOT FROM THE BUSINESS CARD I PERSONALLY gave HER which BY
THE WAY IS STILL THE SAME TELEPHONE number AND HAS BEEN FOR 16 YEARS.
HER BOYFRIEND THEN CALLED AND SAID TO QUIT CALLING HER AND I LEFT. IT AT THAT. HE THEN CALLED SOMETIME LATER AND SAID THEY HAD SOMEONE come OUT AND GIVE THEM AN ESTIMATE TO FIX IT AT $3,400.00 TRYING TO GET THE WHOLE SIDE OF HER HOUSE RE-SIDeD, INCLUDING WHAT WE DIDN'T DAMAGE.
I AM WILLING TO FIX THE SIDING WE DAMAGED AT MY COST AND ONLY THE SIDING WE DAMAGED AS I TRIED TO do BEFORE.

First Of all, homeOwner states he notified BEST ROOFING COMPANY early .March which he did but then states I was non-resonsive for ninety plus days which would be early June but yet states on May 1st that I
was out and did the work. Mr.. [redacted] roof was comppleted on 12/11/14 and he had no leaks or problems with roof after completion There had been plenty of days or rain after this completion date with no problems.
Owner states himself that he had a ice damn on Valley over back porch (which is not a porch)on March 2nd,2015 with still no leaks in roof. Well Mr.[redacted] is not the only homeowner in this city that had ice dams On
their roofs (which is not my fault since I am not GOD) and donot have control over the weather) do to the very long and harsh winter that We had,which is why I was not able to get to this work as soon as Mr. [redacted] thought I should.
Being the reputable contractor that I am and trying to keep my customer’s happy I told Mr. [redacted] that I would com out and fix “HIS” problem
caused by ice dam which causes exspansion and contraction (which again I have no control over) to roofing material which did so to Mr. [redacted],s roof in this area causing the shingles to raise along bottom of this area
and lifting up the step-flashing along the wall and allowing vat to
get underneath and in turn run down into facia & soffit wood.
I took my best employee out to do this work who has worked for me
for twelve years. Upon removeing soffit wood employee found that someone had put soffit wood over existing damaged wood and left that way. I don't know if Mr. [redacted] had this done previously or if house was recently sold to him this way. The shingles in question by Mr.[redacted] are new Shingles and were removed, step-flashing put back in properly,and reshingled back with same shingles. My employee took picture of this area before and alter
work was completed. MY employee did install new soffit wood as needed.
As I stated earlier this problem was from no fault of BEST ROOFING CO. Workmanship but by an at of GOD)(that I have no control over)and it does appear that no matter what BEST ROOFING COMPANY tries to do, it will not be to Mr.[redacted]'s satisfaction, I know of no other resolution.

This roof was inspected upon completion by Allen County Building Department and passed inspection as all roofs have to be. I have pictures taken if needed for reference!

The issue has been unresolved for over several months. The non-responsiveness has been over the past several weeks when phone communications ceased. I believe the ice dam was caused by improper installation of the roofing materials. The build-up of ice caused damage to the structure and is the responsibility of the contractor to repair per our verbal communications. Best Roofing was to remove and replace the soffit, fascia and roofing materials in the affected area. Best Roofing has not provided any proof to me that the roofing material were actually repaired, as the shingles are still curled and the fascia is detached from the rafters. The only repairs attempted to date have been to attach new soffit at the underside of the affected area. That response was prompted only after I left a message stating their response time was unacceptable and that the openings were susceptible to insect and animal infestation and immediate action was required.
This issue is not resolved.

MY Name is EDWARD C[redacted] and I am the owner of BEST ROOFING CO. LLC. I am responding to Mr. [redacted]'s response to my last response.
Mr. [redacted] states that the ice dam build-up on his roof was caused by "improper installation of the roofing materials". As I stated in my previous response that I am not GOD and I have no control over the weather Mr. [redacted] is not the only person that had ice dam build upoon their roof in this past winter as I stated before. I do understand that the ice dam did cause the damage Mr. [redacted] is talking about but is not the result Of improper installation of roofing materials. Mr. [redacted] states that I gave him no "proof" that the shingles were removed & repaired as I stated in my previous. response that I did.The shingles were replaced in accordance to manufacturers instructions As well!
As I stated before I tried to be a fair person with Mr. [redacted] but he seems to know much more than I do or that GOD does about roofing and the result of ice dam build-up: so I do not have any more to Say to Mr.[redacted] and suggest to him to call someone that he feels more knowledgeable than BEST ROOFING CO. and have the work done that is his responsibility because the problem is not the fault of BEST ROOFING CO. Mr. [redacted] had no leak in his roof when we were done with his roof(that’s why he paid for the work completedin his proposal and why the BUILDING DEPARTMENT Ok’d the work on their inspection after completion)still has no leaks in his roof, and since I tried to be a fair respectable company with him to no avail, I have no Other response to MR. [redacted].
