whom it may concern,We at Quality Auto Body were sorry to hear of the accident Mr. [redacted]'s daughter was involved in and that she incurred injuries. We understand the need to place blame, but all of the facts need to be considered before any conclusions can be made. The most important factor is...

did the Vehicle provide appropriate protection to the passengers. In the case of Mr. [redacted]'s vehicle, we did repairs to the [redacted] in April of 2016, Mr. [redacted] chose to have the repairs done using "LKQ" (used parts) and "Aftermarket" parts to save moncy on thc repair. We agreed to this repair and all parts were inspected before installation. At the end of the repair the air bag computer systein was reset.When Mr. [redacted] contacted us regarding this issue wc agreed to pay him the amount he was requesting if we were allowed to diagnose the vehicle to determine if the airbags functioned properly during thc accident. When there is a problem with the airbag systcin a light on the dash board is displayed to indicate a potential problem. Mr. [redacted] stated that there were no airbag lights diplayed on the vehicle prior to the accident, Eleaning that the airbag system should function as it is intended to. The vehicle was disposed of before Mr. [redacted] contacted us, therefore we were not given the opportunity to inspect it. Based on the pictures he sent us there is no way to determine if the airbags should have deployed. The functionality of airbags is determined when the sensors placed strategically around the vehicle are triggered. I would also like to point out that the injuries incurred would likely have occurred regardless of airbag deployment because the driver airbag comes from the steering wheel protecting the upper body and face. In the pictures Mr. [redacted]'s daughter is visable and did not show any signs of injury to her face. The injuries described came from the scatbelt tightening against her shouldcr (as it is supposed to do) and from her knee hitting the dash area below the steering wheel.Because Quality Auto Body was not offered the opportunity to inspect the [redacted] after the accident to determine why the airbag did not deploy and based on the other factors stated above I do not fect We (WCMr. [redacted] the requested settlement. Additionally, there was more than a years time between the repairs in question and the second accident, If there was a problem with the airbag system the system indicator light would have alerted the driver of a problem. We regret that Mr. [redacted]'s daughter was involved in an accident, but that is the risk of driving.
