Work Regarding Best Value Home Remodel, Inc
Artificial Turf Installation: Bait and Switch, Unprofessional Install, Poor Customer Service
Looking for a company to install artificial turf, here's one to avoid
Going back to the very beginning in September, I was originally given a proposal by "Larry" to install artificial turf"Larry" claimed to be a owner or senior manager of some sortAfter about a month with no folland phone calls to their office, "Truman" comes on the scene with a discount on the original proposalIt took several weeks to get referencesThen Truman fell off the radarAfter more calls "Grant" comes out and tells me that Truman under bid the project and the price would be higherGrant first came in with a figure that almost twice the original proposal
The installation that was promised to take about two weeksAfter about two months, still had material, equipment and trash on my front porchThe workers were messyTrash was put behind bushes, on my front porch and on top of discarded turfSeveral new turf areas had to be redone due to the poor workmanshipBoth sides of the yard was redoneOne side three times and you can still see lumpsFound long turf areas after sign off that were not nailed downI've had to replaced most of the drip lines that they installedThe final trash and equipment pick up by them was only after I told them that I would put everything on the street for garbage pickup
Customer Service/Sales Staff rarely responded or only after several calls during the installation
I called Best Value this past May regarding a bad seam in the turfI was promised a repairCalled again in July after no one ever came or calledThe second call was in regard to walkway repair made as part of the installation that has completely fallen apart
Now in September and no response to either call
So bottom line, BAIT AND SWITCH, unprofessional install and poor or no customer service
How this company could be rated by the Revdex.com as A+ is beyond belief
Would I Recommend this Company? NEVER!!!
My overall Grade: D
And one final NOTEWhere did I find out about this company? The HERO program! I called to inquire about the Hero finance program and the person I spoke with recommended Best Value and even put me in contact by phone directly as we spoke

Best value home remodeling contracts telemarketers who call numbers on the do-not-call listLast week I had a discussion with my wife over dinner as she told me about a telemarketer who insulted her after she showed no interest in this companyTheir worker, Tiffany, insulted my wife for having answered the phone while drivingShe said she asked Tiffany to remove her from the call list and Tiffany promised to call back insteadWe later received phone calls in a row on our day off after, once again, being insulted after asking to be removedWe will be setting an appointment for this scam the next time we get a call so that whoever claims to provide free or affordable upgrades can see how many times Tiffany calls throughout the day

I contracted with Best Home Value to Tex Cote - Coll Wall paint my house, this was financed under the [redacted] Program.
I am writing because it very much felt like the wool was pulled over my eyes, almost a case of switch & bait. Many promises made and sadly they had not been communicated to the sub-contractors, which created much tension through the process. I was basically guaranteed that the paint manufacturer could match any color, not true come to find out & I had to settle for second choice. A few weeks after the final walk through, I discovered that primer was showing and the coat of paint was thin. Receiving no answer to my calls & emails, I contacted the manufacturer and requested they send an inspector. He confirmed that a second coat should have been applied and basically it was not up to their standards. I will spare all the aggravating details to get that scheduled and I am happy to report that the final paint was applied 03/01/2016 and I never care to hear from these people again. I will clean the paint off my entry tiles, put back together what they should have such as planters etc. They were paid in full in December and told their subs I had not paid them which is a lie and I sent them proof of the contrary.

Best Value Home Remodeling should due background checks on sub-contractors before they hire them. I am the president of a HOA here in Oceanside, California. I am also the facilities chair responsible for maintenance and repairs in our senior community. I have been a general contractor for over 30 years so I know what I'm taking about.

About a month ago a dubious contractor showed up in our community soliciting roof repairs. Here in our community we require the home owner to fill out a architectural request that includes a statement of work, contractors name and materials to be used. This "contractor" showed one of the three owners a blank form stating that he had taken care of all the information required. THIS WAS NOT THE CASE. Prior to ARC approval and before a permit was pulled the "contractor" began demo on the adjacent roof. It seems that he had solicited repair work from an elderly women who needed a leak fixed on her carport roof. It was at that point when this operation was brought to my attention as facilities chair. I approached the job site and asked to speak to the person in charge. Workers on the roof pointed to another laborer on the ground. I asked if there was an architectural request and a permit for the job. He told me that the owner of the business was not around and would be back later. When I returned....the workers had demoed not just the carport roof but the entire south side of the garage gable roof. What could have been a simple leak repair became an expensive roof job for the elderly women. The original contracted roof had not yet been touched. I met the owner and helped him fill out a request and ran it through the process of approval by the committee. The next monday I contacted the "contractor" and informed him that he needed a city permit. A permit was filed and the work on the original structure began. Two days later...while work was being done on the permuted structure....I saw that the "contractor had started to demo another carport adjacent to the permitted structure. This time an ARC had been filed. Throughout the week I kept an eye on the company however, during the middle of the second week of work I noticed a roof addition being constructed. Again, no ARC, no permit. I walked into the carport to see what was being done and found one of the worst construction jobs I have seen in my 30+ years as a general contractor. I waited for the "contractor" to return and asked him this question. "What's wrong with this picture?" He replied..."I don't know....tell me." I began to describe each code violation, lac of permit, engineering concerns and just plane shabby work. I asked ..."Why would you do something like this?" He replied..."The owner asked me to." It that point I asked do you have a contractors license? He said..."I'm working under another contractor's license". (Best Value Home Remodeling, Inc.. I told him to remove the work he had done. I then contacted Best Value and left a message. About an hour later I got a call from "Chris" general manager for Best Value. I explained the situation however, over the phone you can't get a good picture of what actuarially took place. He explained that he knew about this "contractor" and that he was giving him a chance. WHAT! I told Chris that I never wanted to see this "contractor" here again. I'm not sure where this will leave us. But my next step is to contact Consumers Affairs. I don't like taking things this far. I haven't seen this kind of blatant scam in quite sometime. Coming into a community to solicit illegal work and doing a terrible job at that. It goes without saying that from this point on our process for approving contractors will change.
[redacted] - President / Facilities Chair

Thanks to Greg [redacted] and Randy OUTSTANDING service throughout our complete re-roof and cool wall jobs well done. The work crews worked hard until jobs were done and went above and beyond in customer service from beginning to end.We love our new roof(house built 1964) and our cool wall is AWESOME we already feel how much better the insulation from the valley heat is with cool wall.

A little pricey for Paver Stones, but used HERO program. Then things got worse. 2-3 day job took over 70+ days to complete. Sent crew from San Diego area to San Bernardino, 2 hour drive to and back. That was part of their work day leaving 4 hours to work, oops forgot once they got here to work they took a 30-45 minute lunch break. Measurements were off and tried to gouge me for another $1200 for extra 87 feet of Pavers. Falsely reported job complete twice. This outfit is not for me. Since job completion I've been called twice more asking if I wanted a quote to start services. No one down there seems to know whats going on!! Offered my two free movie tickets as thank you for messing up my life and job (sent back).

This company is beyond amazing. I had a leak in my roof for years and have been to broke to fix it. I had a call out of the blue the blue a couple months back and this lovely girl told me they have options to do work on a low income. I went ahead and set an appointment to have a representative come out. The product they showed me was amazing and they had a plan that worked just for me. I eventually ended up taking care of my paint, my roof and all my windows thanks to Best Value... I was almost to the point I had to sell my home because I was so tired of looking at it... And now it's beautiful. 10/10 would highly recommened. They did excellent work. Lifetime warranty products. Friendly and quick service.

The company worked extensively to get me the best color choice and worked very hard to do so. They even reduced my overall price to get me the best overall experience of the final product. I'm very pleased with the Best Value Home Remodeling.
