Best Western Courtesy Inn

Review: Let me just start out by saying I am more than appalled by this hotel. The lady I spoke with on the reservation line was very kind, and assured me that [redacted] was a nice suburb of San Diego. She could not have been more wrong. There were cockroaches in the bathroom, and the first day we were here, there was a domestic dispute that multiple cops were called in to handle. The second day we were here, the police were arresting a man whom they had found with drugs and a gun. There are no smoking in the rooms, so every time my husband and I stepped outside for a cigarette, we were offered drugs, and asked for cigarettes and spare change. Not to mention, there is a lot of all night traffic....very shady things going on in this place. On our second day, I overheard the manager telling a long term tenant that he needed to watch his all night traffic through his room because she was determined to "turn this hotel into a nice place". However, when I walked into the front office to politely express my concerns about the safety of this hotel concerning my family, the manager, not even giving me the decency to address me personally, turned to the gentleman behind the counter and said, "You know what? If she doesn't like it, give her a refund, and tell her to leave." I responded by telling her that I had no other hotel reservations set up, and she gave me the address to another Best Western to go to and asked me to check out immediately. Our family had plans for SeaWorld, and we were not going to spend our day searching for a hotel, so I told her for sure we would be staying another night. Very clearly against the managers wishes, as she kept repeating, " If you're out by twelve, I'll give you a refund. If you don't like it, just leave." When we returned to the hotel room, my children's beds were made up with dirty, cigarette burned bedding. As I said before, I am completely appalled by this hotel, its management, and the way they conduct business.Desired Settlement: My stay at this hotel was uncomfortable to say the least. I payed almost $1,000 to stay at this hotel, and was not only treated poorly and unprofessionally, but also made to feel unsafe and unwelcome. This place is more than likely a drug house, and prostitution outpost. I'm simply appalled. This place should not be in business. Do a little research, you wont have to look hard to see what I've just relayed to you.
