Our policy is 100% non smoking. Our policy is in place to respect the health conditions of our future guests. Thank you

I checked in after PM on 6/21/2016, and noticed that the guest in the room adjacent was smoking a pipe on his balconyThe following morning JoeDee came to my room demanding entrance because she had "seen ashes on y balcony." I refused entry because my son had come in at 6:and was asleepI went to the desk to complain and JoeDee informed me that there had been a report that I was smoking in my room or on my balcony (which was closed and remained so)She did not say she smelled smoke in my room, less than two hours before I checked outWhen I went to the desk to complain, JoeDee said they were watching out for me because I "smelled like smoke" when I checked inNot surprising, considering I had just driven ten hours with a smokerI do not smokeNot normally being a complainer, I had decided to just never stay there again until I saw a $charge on my credit card statement, which Best Western Customer Service said was a smoking feeDespite repeated attempts, no one at the h

Complaint: [redacted]I am rejecting this response because:

In counter to "John"'s letter, I accused the employee of Nazi tactics when she appeared at my door at 9 AM on 6/22/2016, dressed entirely in black and holding what appeared to be a baton. At first I thought she was a police officer. She was extremely persistent and I have never had such an experience at any hotel/motel. As I have consistently noted, this staff member would certainly have smelled smoke in the air when she attempted to barge into my room, less than an hour-and-a-half before I checked out and two-and-a-half hours after my son's arrival.  I know that the housekeeper entered our room as soon as we left because she ran us down to return my treasured St Christopher's medal that I had left behind in my upset state.  Yet, we are expected to believe, now, that I damaged property by smoking apparently odorless cigarettes.
This is the first mention of any stains on the carpets, and this Best Western has continued to fabricate and pile on untruths.  I did tell the same staff member that my son smokes, as explanation of why I may have smelled of it the evening before.  He did not stay in the room; he helped me unload my car (I was carrying many items to the memorial service in Seattle for my stepfather, dead of lung cancer) and immediately left, returning at 6:30 the following morning, when he promptly fell asleep.  The only reason we made Corvallis the halfway point of our trip from San Francisco to Seattle and back was that he has a large number of friends there.  My 23-year-old son did not sit with his mother all evening watching "Keeping up with the Kardashians".Sincerely,[redacted]

Complaint: [redacted]I am rejecting this response because:
It is not a response. It is a statement of a policy I did not violate. My original complaint stands and Best Western Grand Manor Inn, personified in its "general manager" John (no last name) is acting in bad faith as well as thumbing its nose at the principles for which the Revdex.com stands. Its accusations keep changing. It has no proof--surely if any items were damaged  (latest unfounded accusation) they would have been photopraphed. Its employee would have said the room smelled of smoke as she stood half in/half out the door. Someone from the Best Western Grand Manor Corvallis should have the courtesy, professionalism and courage to speak to me. Someone besides JoeDee.

This business is taking advantage of the fact that I live far away and probably wouldn't file in small claims court. It has quite literally stolen $100 from me and left me with no recourse. Since I violated no policy, I demand that  $100 be returned to me. Having to file a small claim will be costly but unless this business begins to show some responsiveness and responsibility I will do so.
Sincerely,[redacted]
