I am a 38-year-old woman, and I visited this store on 5/29/with my 63-year-old motherI was on the phone (on hold) with a wallpaper company regarding an order I had placedI went into Leland's to purchase patio furniture for a new home I just bought in Geist, and a man that worked there named [redacted] rushed up to me in a physically menacing manner (about inches from my face) and demanded that I leave the storeHe accused me of trying to videotape inside the store (I guess because I was on hold and not talking on my phone?), and rudely told me and my mother to leaveI was astonished, and we left the store When we were outside, my mom took a picture of the front marquee of the store so we could post it on Facebook and file a complaintHe then followed us out of the store and tried to further intimidate us as we were leaving to get into our car -- he handed us his business card (that's how I know his name), 'to help us with our complaint' he saidThis was terrifying, beyond unprofessional and just plain rude The whole interaction came out of nowhere and was very scary It is clear that this man does not respect customers, and was physically intimidating to two normal, respectable women (we were getting into a Mercedes, for goodness sake! Not that that matters, but I'm trying to set the scene)There is just no excuse for this type of behavior -- in society in general or in business I will NEVER shop at Leland's again, and will let everyone know, any time I can -- to avoid this place like the plague If you are a woman, don't go in there unless you bring a bodyguard

I am a 38-year-old woman, and I visited this store on 5/29/15 with my 63-year-old mother. I was on the phone (on hold) with a wallpaper company regarding an order I had placed. I went into Leland's to purchase patio furniture for a new home I just bought in Geist, and a man that worked there named [redacted] rushed up to me in a physically menacing manner (about 6 inches from my face) and demanded that I leave the store. He accused me of trying to videotape inside the store (I guess because I was on hold and not talking on my phone?), and rudely told me and my mother to leave. I was astonished, and we left the store.
When we were outside, my mom took a picture of the front marquee of the store so we could post it on Facebook and file a complaint. He then followed us out of the store and tried to further intimidate us as we were leaving to get into our car -- he handed us his business card (that's how I know his name), 'to help us with our complaint' he said. This was terrifying, beyond unprofessional and just plain rude. The whole interaction came out of nowhere and was very scary.
It is clear that this man does not respect customers, and was physically intimidating to two normal, respectable women (we were getting into a Mercedes, for goodness sake! Not that that matters, but I'm trying to set the scene). There is just no excuse for this type of behavior -- in society in general or in business.
I will NEVER shop at Leland's again, and will let everyone know, any time I can -- to avoid this place like the plague. If you are a woman, don't go in there unless you bring a bodyguard.
