After researching the issue we finally determined why the noise complaint was occurring. The room which was creating the complaints from Ms. [redacted], was rented to a single gentleman. What we didn't know is the individual was part of a band which was playing nearby. At the end of their gig they...
came over 2 by 2 to shower. Well, when we got the complaint we'd go talk to them - only problem they'd go back and 2 more would come over and then create additional issues Ms. [redacted] described. Unfortunately by the time we figured out what was happening the damage had been done.In discussions with Ms. [redacted] I agreed to provide her with a Best Western Travel Card. Which she felt was a fair solution given the issue. We've also had discussions with several key members of our staff regarding the issues and what more we could have done or should have done. Review: On Sunday May 17, 2015 I checked into the Best Western Clock Tower Inn. It is clearly marked with a placard on the front desk, the the hotel is "100% nonsmoking". I was then asked to sign an agreement/contract that I would not "have pets, smoke, or engage in partying on the premise." I was informed and was led to believe at this time that these activities were not tolerated by the hotel. Apparently this was not the case. We were assigned room 216. Starting at 10:30 p.m. we were subjected to raucous talking, partying, and smoking by tenants in two other rooms, one in 214, and a room around the corner of our room. I had to tell these individuals to stop, leave, or go in their own rooms. This was not the end of it. At 1:45 a.m., the noise, partying, and smoking began AGAIN. I had to call the front desk and ask the woman on duty at that time to put a stop to the problem. At approximately 2 a.m. she approached the group told them that there had been complaints, that they need to stop, or they would be asked to leave. They were not asked to vacate. We were subjected to stale second hand smoke that entered into our room due to the enclosed corridor to our room, and little to no sleep that night. The agreement we signed apparently is a one sided, fraudulent agreement on the part of the hotel.Desired Settlement: Business is to refund cost of stay, based on their breach of contract for providing a room under the contract and regulations under which they are operating.
