Best Western Rama Inn

Review: The rooms my sister & I had in the "newly added on" wing of the establishment were incomplete. I had NO mirror mounted on the wall above the sink; only a mirror the size of an 8x10 picture propped up behind the faucet. The curtains were THUMB TACKED up and tacks flew everywhere when you opened curtains. I stubbed my toe on staple gun staples that stuck in my toe, which had not been cleaned up near the bottom of the bed. The SMOKE DETECTOR in my room & my sisters room had a dust guard over it, used by the construction workers while finishing their work, and the pull tab to activate the fire alarm still intact. This means it was NOT functional alarm. I told staff on Saturday, June 15, 2013, after returning from a wedding. She made a note of it & said the manager would not be in until Monday, but she would contact her to explain my concerns. Apparently this never happened. The day of our departure, we went to the front desk to address the concerns & ask to speak with a manager. I felt that I should be compensated for one full night of my stay, they refused. I explained that I did not think it was appropriate to charge me full price for a half put together room, especially with a fire hazard of no functional fire alarm. I informed them that this is against the law & their business could get shut down or fined & that was why I was bringing it to their attention. The staff said, Are you threatening us? I am asking for you to provide me with customer service & validate my concerns. Frustrated, I walked back into the dining area to speak to family members that were eating. The staff called the police on me, assuming I was harassing customers. My children, family & other customers, witnessed me get belittled by the staff & local police. Neither of which went to check out the problems in the room that I had spoke about.I recorded & narrated every detail of the room & safety issues. Cutting corners to get money is not acceptable! I'm appalled by the fact this occurred in a Best Western establishmentDesired Settlement: Although I do not desire a "settlement" I do ask for follow up regarding this concern. I would like to see documentation and proof of valid permits, passing of building inspections and so forth. I am curious to see if the dates coincide with the dates of my stay or if they were in fact, not suited for customers.

On behalf of my entire staff here at the Ephrata Best Western I would like to apologize for not meeting your expectations while staying with us . Just to in form you , all of our fire safety equipment is in place and has never been offline . We carry top of the line state of the art brand new system, online 24 hours a days. There are two systems in every room. As an extra pre cautions we have placed a CO2 detectors in every room as well. This may be what you are saying that had a cover on it? But believe me. Every single inch of this hotel in side and out was inspected before during after after the new addition was opened. By all state and federal inspectors , we received our occupancy permit for that wing on June 3rd, we didn't even start renting any of those rooms until the 14th of June. As for the smaller mirrors in the rooms, they were only temporally until the order came in later that next week. As will did the curtains. I was a couple of hours away when the issues that you are stating you had happened, plus I was on the phone with the staff and the local police dept. as will. You were asked to leave the property because of disturbing other guests . And you were compensated for both evenings . Also just for the record, I have just returned from working overseas in Iraq, I would have never place anyone in any of our guest rooms. if I thought there was any un safe conditions. I know how precious life is .. Thanks you for your time.
