Review: The company advertised their service on [redacted] as follows: $49 for whole-house air-duct cleaning, which includes unlimited vents, one main and one return, plus dryer-vent cleaning (a $345 value). Their website includes the same statement but also breaks down the individual costs for items such as returns, dryer vents etc. When the technician came to my house he insisted that he must clean the blower motor and include additional 2 returns. That would cost $280. I asked that he exclude the blower motor and the returns but he insisted that he can do partial items, it has to be the whole thing. First off the advertisement does not state that the service was a partial service. It was advertised as whole house and didn't state that the blower motor was separate. Additionally the blower motor could not have been dirty because it was recently replaced this past winter. The replacement required the blower cage to be cleaned at that time so I know and have pictures that show the cleaned blower motor cage and the new motor installed. The technician also didn't bother to pull out the cage to observe the motor to tell if it was even dirty. Secondly, the technician stated that the vents have never been cleaned. I have been in this house for 5 years and even I would not boldly state that the vents have never been cleaned before. The [redacted] stated that the I was getting 86% off of a whole house air duct cleaning, however based on what I was told by the technician, I was only receiving a partial air duct cleaning and in order to get the whole house cleaning I would have to pay $280 (blower and 2 additional return vents) + $250 ([redacted] value). I asked to have my [redacted] payment refunded and instead of just directing me to contact [redacted], the technician also called his boss for me to "explain" why I wanted to refund my [redacted]. The "boss" proceeded to inform me of my ignorance in my suggesting that I not have the blower motor cleaned or the additional two return vents. I asked him if he would refund my $49 [redacted] or [redacted] and he directed me to [redacted] but continued to be condescending when I informed him that I replaced the blower motor and thoroughly cleaned the cage so I know first hand how clean it is.Desired Settlement: This company needs to apologize for misleading advertisement. I will make comments on their service via social media.

Review: I purchased a [redacted] on February 2, 2013 for air duct cleaning services with Best Clean for $39.95. The cleaning service included one main line, one return vent, and unlimited floor vent cleans. I was able to get an appointment scheduled at my home for the same day and when speaking with Best Clean, the representative told me that I could add additional items if I wanted, but could also just go with the advertised package on [redacted]. The technician arrived and examined my system and quoted me $320.00 in addition to the $39.95 [redacted] that I had purchased. When I expressed concern over this matter, and that I only wanted to do the cleaning for what was advertized on [redacted], he refused to honor the [redacted] at all. He became very irritated and aggresive with me regarding purchasing the deal and pricing; he was also extremely hard to understand. I was at home alone with a man that I do not know and felt extremely uncomfortable and pressured. I had to negotiate with his manager over the phone to lower the price to $195, at which point I agreed to the service because I felt so pressured. I contacted [redacted] and Best Clean multiple times after the service to voice my complaint and rectify the situation. [redacted] has been outstanding to work with and refunded the $39.95; Best Clean has failed to return my calls or [redacted] calls on my behalf. Today, February 23, 2013, I noticed that several holes had been cut into the ducts when the air duct cleaning was done, they were patched incorrectly and fell open resulting in all of the heat in my house being directed into my laundry room which I am not sure how long this could have been going on.

In total, I feel that I was a victim of a bait and switch advertisement, I was made to feel uncomfortable in my own home and pressured into purchasing a service that I did not expect. Finally, there was damage done to my home that I was never notified would be done and I have read the agreement that I signed for the cleaning, which never mentioned anything regarding holes being cut into the ducts.Desired Settlement: I would just like a refund of the $195 that I was charged by Best Clean.
